Just got our letter today so not sure how many out there have the same information.  7 days in and he says it sucks !!!  probably so !!  we'll start writing to him,  encourage him to keep going and remember that you go through Basic Training, you don't stay there.   Better things await those who persevere !

God Bless all the recruits

Is Anyone getting a call today? I am just hoping.
Just got a phone call, so I hope you did as well . They have been doing very well so thats why they are getting this phone call.
Sounds more like his self and not so stressed out. They have Damage Control and Fire Fighthing this week and something else where they are in some sort of gas chamber and need to respond correctly. Told him just not to freak out, and stay calm and think things thru.
Talk soon
Whoo hoo Nola,
I just got a call too!! She says she is excited abou the gas chamber on Friday... I couldn't believe it. She also said that since she is A school in GL she will have liberty on Friday after graduation, move across the street on Saturday until 1300 and then have the liberty Saturday and possibly have overnight liberty and not have to be back until Sunday night. I am hoping so, I booked our flight and hotel until Monday just in case she was able to get this much liberty. I am so excited I am counting down the days.

Nola, I think my recruit knows your recruit.... she asked about Navy4Moms!! LOL
Robbin - isn't it nice to hear their voices and they are "up" for a change? Could you ever have imagined her being excited about a gas chamber drill? I have mentioned several N4M recruits but they were in a letter and I never think to ask when he calls. He will be close to you in Biloxi when A school starts. Very strange to have it in the same place but at least you don't have to travel far. : )
It is wonderful to hear her voice and read her letters. It's not as hard as it was in the beginning. She sounds so much better and she is so excited to tell me all the accomplishments that her division is doing and all the flags they have. What's even more exciting for me is everything is "they" and "us", there is no "me" and "I", that is the biggest change I have seen in her calls and letters.
I am so upset. I only got to talk to my daughter for two minutes because they couldn't find me in my buiding and since they only gave them ten minutes. Why is that? I feel better coming on this site and seeing that they are doing well and some of the recruits are feeling better. Mine was crying because she didn't get to talk to me and only for two minutes. I felt so bad. What is up with that? Why can't they call more than once every eight or nine days? I guess I better quit ranting about it. I do want to thank you ladies for giving me the positive feed back that is happening in their division. It does give me some hope that she is going to be ok. My daughter is staying in GL too and she didn't know about liberty but it sounds from what I just read from aonther Mom they might get more liberty than she had anticipated after their move.
Hang in there - I got the front end of the call and then my son called his dad at work and he basically said hello, then goodbye !!! The chief said "time is up" so......that's it!! You just never know when they will call and how long it will be. You will probably have a letter tomorrow if she wrote on Sunday . :) Best thing is, it's closer to PIR !!!
Thanks Nola. You made me feel better!
Their calls are given to them as a reward, right now, they are told when they can eat, sleep, talk, etc and that is that. Nothing they or we can do about it. Hang in there and maybe tell her to call your cell phone so you can have it on you at all times. I used to be bad about leaving mine around and not haveing it with me until she went to Great Lakes, now I don't go into the bathroom without it for fear that I would miss a call!! LOL
I go a call too. I was in the chemo chair at the time so overjoyed to hear her voice. She was telling me about something 'cool' when she stopped talking. I heard yelling in the background and she suddenly said, "Oh, crap! We are in trouble. I gotta go ... I love you, bye!
Linda, chemo chair? I didn't know, I am so sorry but glad you got your phone call when you did. I'm sure it made your day even if it wasn't a long call.
I got a call yesterday too...there div has been doing VERY well and earned every flag possible...they are starting out on their own this week...and cant relay on the RDC to help them as much, couple more drills and test this week. Also a roumer going through that the entire DIV is Grad & Go...excellent for those staying in GL for A school...i guess not for those who are not. My hubby still dosnet know when BST-21 is...so if anyone else has any info that would be great! Nice 10 min phone call, I feel bad he always breaks down when they tell him its time to go...I think he misses me :( and then I got 5 letters too...they usually come on thursday...I was going to save them for another day but you know I couldnt ;) Time is going fast for both of us but I cant wait till PIR and hopefully a LOOONG liberty weekend. :D 17 days
