OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Follow this link for OPSEC Guidelines:

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

Hi all!  This is a discussion I've started for the families with recruits in Ship 2, Div 952.  Of course anyone can join, but this will help those of us in this specific group get to know each other.

This is true Diana, I have to remember they're special and have a lot on their plates!
Hi Dianna, I got a long letter from my boy today dated 10/25 and he says your sons bunk is right by his and they usually work out together after taps at night trying to lose their belly fat. He seems really excited about the A school choice he was given but says he won't be able to call home again until maybe Nov 10th. They are sooooo busy. I can't wait for that call!
So it looks like with have 3 Andrews in the same division?! How cool!
Tammy -No intrusion! This is an open group and I love your thought process! I will put 952 down for 11/9 with a "tentative" next to it. Hopefully one of us will get a "Guess What BS21 is on 11/XXX" call or letter....

Heather - I guess this is why they go by last names!
How cool is that! I can't understand my son and his belly me he looked like a stick! And he told his gf that he's gained about 15 pounds of muscle since being there. I'm sure a lot of it is due to the extra working out with your son. Did he say what is A school choice is? Mine is gong to Pensacola...
I'm one of the other Drews Mom's and I saw the flag. It is very good and my Drew said alot about it and he thinks its awesome! He is also a tatoo artist. And seems to be loving boot camp, which I never expected. He says Battlestations will be the end of the 7th week (this coming week) but did not say which day.
Hi Drewsmomship02, what a coincidence that both of our Drews are tattoo artists?! I'm actually a fiance, not a mom but this site has been so helpful- looking forward to meeting you next week! My Drew started his apprenticeship earlier this year; then decided to go in the Navy, so he hasn't finished it yet but it's still a goal of his; he's got too much talent to not do it!
Heather, I just lookd at the pic of their flag. It is really cool. Your SR did a great job.
The flag is so awesome! I love it. Thanks all for the updates. We got a letter last week and Trav said he was great and that the division was also doing well. He didn't go into a lot of detail though, so it's nice to hear it from other sailors! I can't WAIT!!
My son said in a letter that he's lost a lot of weight too! I really like the flag, your son is very talented!
Thanks ziggy- actually Drew is my fiance and I am so extremely PROUD to be marrying such a strong, brave, smart and talented man!
I was married to a sailor and we loved our navy life! He's a civilian now- but we still keep in close touch with Navy peeps. So happy for you!
