My day, my night, my tomorrow:-)
We got one too!! YAHOOOO!! His gf was actually at our house, so that was a bonus for him. He said all of the same- he's really excited about the battle stations. It was SO SO great talking to him- I could've have just cried. ( i didnt' though! That's a first!)
I'll be thinking of you all on Tuesday-
I also receieved a call. Battlestations is on Tuesday with phone calls on Wednesday. They also took 2nd for Captains Cup. Great job 952! They are really working hard!
I feel so much better after talking to him. He called mw, no answer, called his gf, no answer. Then tried again and got ahold of both of us. He was worried he wouldnt get to talk to us. Then he was excited about the food! LOL He is tall and thin, but eats like a horse.

Can't wait to see him!
My son is the same way....eats like a bottomless pit but never gains weight. Although apparently he has gained about 10 pounds of muscle while there.... I'm so glad your son was persistent and got to talk with you!
I got a call too. Was so happy. I was on the road home from taking my parents shopping and getting last minute stuff for our trip when the call came in so he got to talk to his grandpa too. Make me cry just thinking about it. Said BS is Tuesday same as everyone else. Get this, when I asked him what he wanted to eat first night of Liberty, expecting some kind of junk food, he says to me, "something healthy". I almost drove off the road. My son never ate healthly in his life. lol I so can't wait for our next call on Wed. and then to see them all on Friday. What a week we have ahead of us.
That is too funny Terri! I'm glad you didn't wreck the car lol and really glad he got to talk to his grandpa
I couldn't believe it when I got a call yesterday! He was waiting in chow line. They didn't know they would be allowed to call. His Grandpa was at my house and got to talk to him for a few minutes, too. Then 30 minutes later he called again. After not getting to talk to him for so long, it was awesome but I had planned to ask a lot of questions and I was so shocked to get the calls, I couldn't think of what to ask. He did ask me to send some of his stuff to PIR and from what I read online, he is not allowed to take personal stuff back to boot camp....so I don't know whether to send it or not. I thought we had to ship that directly to A-school. Does anyone know?
Good Morning,
I am having a rough morning, although I was so happy to hear from my son, he told us he got his orders, and he is being sent to Norfolk. All of his dream staions were on the West coast so at least he could be somewhat close to us, but I guess that's why they call them DREAM stations. I know it's the Navy and he goes where he is needed, and I knew it could happen, but the reality of it stinks!! I woke up with all the mom anxiety, how will he know where to go, who will pick him up at the airport, etc. He hasn't even graduated or gone to A school. I guess, I know I have to let him go, and I thought I was ready.....nope.
I'm sorry Tammy! It's hard to see that he won't be getting to stay close to you. My son told me he hasn't received his orders yet....but NONE of his dream locations were close to me...or even on this continent! You will never let him go, you will just support and love him from a longer distance...
Thank you!! I thought I was going to be okay with it, but it's funny how when you lay down to sleep all these things race into your head. Keep moving forward!! I will focus on Friday, and take it from there!!

By the way my son said the same thing about the Captains Cup, well actually he wasn't so nice about it, his competitive nature I suppose, but I think that is why they got to go to SR Heaven and make calls!! He said they had changed BS21 but they couldn't write, so he was so worried about me not knowing the correct date. Glad he got to call so now he has focus and fire to finish!!
Actually, Tammy - my son wasn't as nice as what I posted either....I was just trying to be PC.... :-) 3 day week for me and then off to Great Lakes to meet you and see our new SAILORS!!!!

Oh yeah, he said 952 performed on Friday in front of the Australian Commodore (or Commander)..... How cool is that?
