Hi all!  This is a discussion I've started for the families with recruits in Ship 2, Div 952.  Of course anyone can join, but this will help those of us in this specific group get to know each other.

My son thought that was cool too. He was a sideboy he said and the Commodore shook his hand. Did any of you see your sons on the training command's web site? Trav said he was behind the scenes, so I looked and looked to no avail! HA. But I'm hoping some of you saw your peeps.
I looked but didn't see my son.....
My son is a sideboy too and I didn't see him either.
I am sorry Tammy! I have the same worries. Right now we live only 3 hours from GL, so his A school will be great for us. ( I think) but after that- who knows! Norfolk is a fun place to visit- great beaches. My son was born there when his Dad was in the NAvy and we had a good time there. Lots of Navy peeps to hang out with. Our son mentioned something about the Marines because Marines use Navy Corpsman for their medics. EEK. Hang in there. It was almost easier when they were little and the worst thing was when they ran out in the street! :)
I actually have a friend, a Marine, stationed at Quantico. He loves it there! So much to do!
Thank you!! At least he's in the States right!! I've always wanted to visit the east coast!
Plus after boot camp, you'll be able to text and etc. That will help, I hope!
Tammy, I so know how you are feeling. I am not realy to let my son go yet either. I still have 3 at home but for this is the hardest one to let go of. We have had so many emotional ups and downs and to see him doing something that follows in the family business, so to speak, is awesome. I just hope he gets stationed somewhere other than VA. He was born there and really didn't want to go back.
I'm sorry Tammy. :( I think we are never ready to let them go. Is it your son that designed the flag, is very artistic and does tatoos? All they know is 1st initial and last name, but he said he might know who you son is. And only had good things to say about him (well, as much as they know anyway..hard to believe they cant get to know each other bettee. But I guess no social time in bootcamp)
Thank you for your thoughts!! This site really is Heaven sent!!
It is Heather's fiancé that designed the flag although his name is Andrew too! I do agree that the flag is awesome and Andrew IS very talented!! But you are right about knowing each other, my son seems to know them more by where they are from then actual names. LOL
I had a busy day to day with my daughters Cheer leading Comp. Talked to my son's GF last night and he also got to make a phone call for 40 Minutes to her Wow!!! She said he was doing good. Just ate pizza and had a Mt. Dew. I could not believe he was able to do that. He was in heaven!! She said he said to tell me he loved and missed me much.... I almost cried!!!! She also said he would call me Wednesday for the I am a Sailor call... I can't wait... I have only received letters from him so I will be like a kid in a candy store!!! He also told her he has the weekend with us and is not a Grad & Go. That was great news for us both. Come on PIR I am ready for this....
Here they are Ladies... :)
