labellaleigh- thanks so much, I will pass this on to him. I did not see him this weekend, he made himself pretty scarce. When he came in lastnight, he ate a big bowl of vegetable soup I made and thanked me. (like it was just for him) I will take that. He seems to be struggling this weekend, he is back running with some of the guys that he should not be!! lol Oh well an adult he is.

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend with their Sailors. It was cold and I am sure you all felt every bit of that blustery wind blowing.

For most by this time next week you will be in regular contact with your Sailor.
It is wonderful when this happens, and you find you all of the sudden have nothing to talk about. You do not even care you will talk about the little kid down the streets new tricycle to not lose contact with your Sailor again!!

Well the weekend is now over and my sailor is safely tucked away in his compartment. He leaves for Charleston the 17th at 2am! I have to say that saying goodbye 8 weeks ago did not compare to tonight's goodbye. I see what bootcamp has done to my husband and I am proud of him. He stands up straighter and has more confidence in himself than ever before. And telling me that bootcamp has shown him what he had taken for granted, especially with the time with me. Every second counted this weekend and I am glad I was able to spend it with him. Now I must go home (with a cold) and finish my packing for our move to Charleston and do what I've learned... Hurry up and Wait. lol.

I am so happy that I have met most of you wonderful ladies, and if not, i hope your time with your sailor was everything you hoped. I know mine was =)

@Tobianne - My husband wanted me to tell you that he was thinking of your son while graduating. He hates that he wasn't able to finish with 369 and wishes him the best in life. He was a fine example of what a sailor/friend should be, according to many of the sailors I've met.

i dont know much about the phases but I know a good amount about liberty. With the Nukes they get the weekends free but they have to be back in the barracks at a certain for like the first 4 weeks.. and they cant leave base unless its the weekend.. Kind of like liberty weekend for PIR you can go so many miles out but u have to be back at a certain time. Now naturally if your grades are slipping they make you stay in school for like 20 hours extra a week. But I believe by the time A school is over you have your full weekends off no reporting back by a certain time at night and can travel up to 400 miles as long as your back by 0001 Monday morning..

My Sailor is a Nuke so I have been asking the few people I know that are in Nuke school about what to except because naturally I want to see him ASAP and they said that the first weekends he usually has liberty starting that weekend but has to be back by midnight each night.

Thats just for Nukes though since they are in school for about 2 years it is way different for those in school for a few months.

I understand that Nuke school takes a lot longer. I do think they have to abide by all the same rules as all of the other Sailors. Everyone has to do a phase up. This is a basic (procedural) inspection of their sea bags and the phase up test.

Maybe diannep or Jessica can pop in and elaborate. I could be wrong, but all of the Sailors so far (from the moms reporting this to all other moms) have had to do this very same thing. Yes they have privies on the base. They have to earn the privies off and to also wear the civies.

I as I say could be wrong.

@tobianne I think schooling is different for Nukes because of how long it actually is

I'm finally home at 1:00 am last night..the time seamed to go so fast or maybe it was me flying. The graduation was wonderful...the most exciting part was when they were facing the wall and they all turned and everyone was trying to see their sailor...a priceless moment! Loved meeting you all! I miss him already!

ladies they will not leave base until they phase up. This is a test and Seabag inspection. Some do not get that chance very quickly, some miss out due to watch. My daughter took 3 weeks to phase up as she could not get to the test because she had watch and she had all he laundry in washing as was not able to get things ready for inspection. They can also go back to phase 1 if they fail an inspection or failing a test. Just a word to you in case you get told they went back to phase 1. They will all do fine. I think also it depends on where they are d going also. They get weekend liberty 2 times a month, they can however leave base during the week if they do not have duty or watch.
I hope this helped some.

It has been an awesome weekend, one more day and we have to leave each other once again. That will be so hard, it has been great having family time again. We missed each other so much. It has been a blessing to meet so many, I am so glad we were able to do that. I am not sure how we will all keep in touch, but I do pray that we can. It has been an honor and a pleasure to take this journey with each of you. Now, I need to dry my eyes, the tears have started this morning already and we have the day to get through. HAve a great day with your Sailors, enhoy every minute. Oh, Diego was able to propose to Kelsey yesterday with her ring. We pulled it off, she had no idea how he got the ring when we didn't leave the base or how I did it with us always being together. But, we moms have our ways don't we? lol They are now officially engaged and it was so cool, it wasn't exactly the way he wanted to do it, but it got it done and she is one happy girl! Now, can I get my hubby to get me a new ring for our 23rd anniversary in April? lol No, just kidding. We would love to take a family vacation for our 25th, just hope we can get all the K's together in one place at that time. Don't know where they will be stationed, Korey will be in then as Kacy finishes up high school. Hope you are all enjoying your time! Can't wait to hear all our stories...............Barvo Zulu to all!!
