Tobianne: Had to laugh at the "sponge" story! No one would have ever figured that out.
Comment by Tobianne on October 12, 2010 at 8:34am
Ladies diannep is correct. When they call us, we hear the very last thing. They may have just been upset at the RDC and now "want to come home" then 20 mins after the call they are great. Just go on knowing they are good. Things will be fine. The stories they tell will have you laughing for hours.

diannep- I had my Navy t-shirt on at work yesterday (the one the div.designs) the kids kept asking me what it said, I have never been able to figure it out. Well Daughter called me so I finally ask. She said mom really it says at the bottom. All for asponge. I said what ALL FOR ASPONGE. it was run together on purpose. The males in 273 I guess had been told repeatedly about some sponge, they always found a way for this sponge to be a problem (the males). Kayla said mom that was the worst beat down we ever had. The RDC did not want us to put this on the t-shirt but they finally said if it is run together.
The words look like a sponge type and the basic design with the eagle and what not is awesome.
This ladies are some stories you will hear. However I just got that one yesterday. lol So experiences in BC will last a lifetime. Just know they are safe regardless and are doing awesome.

okeemom: Single mom here too...and I also have my walk/prayer time each day, actually several times a day! Lifting all of the recruits in prayer...

Sharon: I hope you had a good night of sleep and feel refreshed today. The emotional highs and lows of boot camp affect everyone going through it. Just remember...he is safe, he is with the Navy, they are watching out for him, training him, breaking him down to build him back up in a great way, etc. His health needs will be met....if he is really too sick to go on, the RDC's will ensure that he gets to medical for treatment...

If we had contact everyday with the recruits there, we would be assured that they are bouncing back. But when it is just a letter or call here or there, then we are "stuck" with the last "feelings' that they shared and sometimes those are negative when they are struggling a bit. As you well know, the Lord DOES have him in the palm of His hand....He is right there with him and the others....

Today is the 12th....PIR is the 12th....PIR is just a month away! All of them are just a week or so away from when it gets better. They finally know that they can do things right and they are "eyeing" PIR then. I pray that your son heals soon and I know he will get through this.

Yes we just have to hang in there keep strong for us and them. The next 30 days one month will go fast. I know this is a chance of a life time for my son. They will get stronger each week till we see them at Graduation. I am living for Nov. 12. I just take one day at a time. Now I will count them down with a smile. Lots of prayers too....

I did get a much better call yesterday from my son from 369,,the blisters that were so bad are healing well...Praise God!! ANd believe me I do give God all the glory for everything good and bad because it is through Him that I stay sane!! I am a single mom and my son is my life..but for the past 4 weeks I feel He has given me 79 other "kids" to pray for..whenver I get down..which is ALOT I thank HIm for everyone of these kids and ask his blessing and to put his arms around each of them. Whether they be sick or lonely or having trouble studying (my son!!) So I asked God this morning as I walked to just help & heal each of our SR and to keep us at home strong for them..Hang in there family 30 days and counting!!! God is good all the time, ALL the time God is good!!

Its odd how happy I was when I got the phone call and then when I get off I realized how much they all went thru this past week and it made me sad all over again. My bf got 2 wisdom teeth pulled. THey only give them enough medicine for 2 days and then they got IBprofien (sp) and my bf has nose bleed problems up there and hes been having to do blood work all week as well hopefully they find a way to stop the nose bleeds or he might get sent back home. So I am extremely worried about that because the Navy is all he has talked about since he signed up in January. He assured me he doesnt think he will get sent home but I am a worrywart lol. Im so glad there is one month left all of this could go fast enough from me. I know he is home sick and I sure miss him home. Im praying for all the boys since it seems like they are all home sick but luckly its almost over

We received a phone call oh it such a relief to hear his voice he had all four wisdom teeth pulled as well he is feeling much better. He said Friday's test wasn't bad he could focus on studying the second day after the trip to the dentist.

Oh Sharon, I am so sad to hear Diego is still not feeling well and homesick too. Please hang in there it's so awful hard some days, cry and cleanse, it works, and so do the prayers lots of them. The empty nest is really hard all 3 of mine have flown the coop in the last year and that is just so unbelievably hard. It's the little things that get me you would think I would be more excited when all the towels are clean, there is gas in my car and i have to wait another day to run the dishwasher. I just can't stand all the quiet.... so crying and praying is what gets me through. Its the little things that bring me to tears You are all so important to me and love being part of this group, hang in there Sharon and try to get some rest you and Diego are in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure he will feel better soon.
