Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by diannep on October 11, 2010 at 12:56pm: Check out fares to Ohare, Midway, and Milwaukee. Milwaukee is a little bit further drive, but not much. Many from my PIR group found some flights there to be cheaper.

Prayers that we will get not only letters, but call this week. They can call anytime, it is up to the RDC's. Hang in there everyone, hoping things are on the upswing from here on out.

We will be driving from Michigan on Thursday and staying at the Ramada Inn.

The good news is if they are celebrating this holiday as well then that means they may get extra time to write so it could be a very good week for letters. :-)

Comment by Mom from St Pete on October 11, 2010 at 6:52am: I live in Florida now but I was born in Akron Ohio. Lived there for 24 years. I still cheer for the Ohio State Buckeyes. I have family in Akron, Massillon, Columbus, Dayton, and Oak Hill. Missed my High School Reunion this year due to a family wedding in the Carolina's. I still keep in touch with a few friends from High School.
