For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thank God cause he will soon be getting a bunch lol. He also said they do some cleaning in the Navy. I guess he did not know about that one ahead of time. HAHA...

@Iowanavygf - There has been LOTS of talk about a M&G but no one has started planning anything that I am aware of. I was hoping to do so, but my time has gotten a bit limited lately.....could I impose on you to help get this going?

Comment by iowanavygf (s7,Div355,PIR11/5) on October 1, 2010 at 10:12pm: oohh,. and the name thing.. apparently the RDC's have been known to come on here and read what we write, and figure out who our sailors are, thats why theres a fuss over protecting them.. so RDC's if you're reading this.. we really appreciate what you're doing for our sailors.. but let them call home soon please! :)

Comment by iowanavygf (s7,Div355,PIR11/5) on October 1, 2010 at 10:10pm: ok since I'm just joining in on this group.. can you guys fill me in on a few things.. are you planning on doing a M and G? If so where.. I was with the 11/5 group and we planned alot, so if you need any assistance and where or whatever I could help. Also, at the m and G that group was having each division make a flag so that you could all find where the division should be on the day of PIR.. less stressful on where to go. Just a thought. Also, we were told of a great free park that is close to base that is really good place to go for pictures, or to stretch tired arms and legs, or if you have children (such as myself). Make sure you write your boys and have them to ask if they are grad and go soon so you can start planning for that.. the 11-5 group began finding out last week.. so this group should start soon as well. Just thought I'd put that all out there for you guys!
