I better tell family members no cards either. I just booked at the Navy lodge and also just booked my flight. It can't come fast enough. All of you are so helpful and supportive. Thank you.

Hi kkcs46,

My son is off to Nuke school in South Carolina.  He is excited about getting there and getting started.  I hear it is a super intense program but he says he is ready.  Lets see if he still feels that way when he is studying for 18 hours a day. ;-) His ultimate goal is to go to Nuke and eventually transfer into the Naval Academy at some point.  Keeping my fingers crossed that works for him.  Thanks for asking.

OxfordCTm my daughter and recruiter said not to send cards. I was told anything other than standard envelopes they will open and they may read/display whats in them. I know my daughters birthday is Friday and i was told not to send any cards :( my brother went through boot camp several years ago and he mentioned cards and things would get put up on some glass area that everyone walked by. I dont know how true it is now days maybe someone else would know more. So im scanning a card onto paper and mailing it to her.

Mmssm93432 many are reserving at the Navy Lodge. Its only 1 mile away about i believe and they have shuttle service for $2. Its great price double queen beds for like $66 a night. And up to 5 guests i believe. Our SR is suppose to stop in sometime over weekend because its a courtesy for those graduating they book in SR name and then ask for them to show their ID. Hope that helps :)

Evans mom. I'm so sorry you missed the call. I missed the first call from my son and ended crying the whole weekend. Now I know to carry my cell phone in my hand on Saturdays. I am so grateful for this website! Does anyone know what hotels are good for graduation?

Thanks for your words of encouragement...I haven't let my phone out of my site and told my principal that I WILL be taking any call I receive during the day! Just hoping to hear from him! I've been pretty solid, but emotional today! and after I heard many of you were getting calls, I've been a mess!

I am confindent we will be getting a letter any day!! And to be super honest after my phone call with my SR I have been so depressed and sick to my stomach. I am hoping the next call will be much better than the last.

I'm sorry Tara, make sure your phone is very close to you on Saturday because I bet you will get a call or even a letter by then. Fingers are crossed for you.
