Hello To All! We received a letter today. I am very happy to hear that he is doing well! So I have now received his info letter, a call last Saturday and now a letter. :) We booked our room for the trip. We chose a hotel that states it has a shuttle. I read on the link that this can be an issue? I did ask the hotel directly?? I also read here that Southwest may allow changes with out exorbitant fees. I did check last week and their flights are the best price from AZ.
Lots of info in this link:
http://navyformoms.com/group/pir11142014/page/page/list
Hotels recommended by others on this site:
Navy Lodge (1 mile from RTC, book in SR's name if you do not have military ID)
Springhill Suites, Residence Inn (we stayed there.....larger suites available for larger groups), Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express...4-5 miles from RTC, close to MeetandGreet held night before PIR for families. Call these hotels directly and ask for Navy Graduation discount. Just a few rooms held at this rate so call now. No penalty if you have to cancel for any reason usually up to day before or of arrival.
Extras for graduation may be allowed to watch the Livestream of PIR in the on-base Chapel....they will not be allowed in PIR Hall until PIR is over. The Hall is cleared of everyone about 10 minutes after the conclusion of PIR.
Hi Chelsey Mom, thanks for sharing. There are several folks on the 11-14-14 PIR Facebook page including myself feeling disappointed since no one has received a letter other than the form letter from our SR's in Ship 03 Div 006. Hopefully the letters will be arriving next week. Getting anxious to hear how our SR's are doing. So glad things are going great for your daughter and she's having fun, what a great way to end your week! Thanks again for sharing, puts a smile on my face.
Ship 03 Div 006 ~ I did receive a message from daughter needing info for security clearance and she mentioned I should get a letter from her on Wednesday. I'm thinking they couldn't mail any out letters or make calls the first 14 days, but will get to this coming Monday :) Can't wait to hear from her!!
Hello, I just found the site and am starting to review previous comments. Is there a FB page for Ship 03 Div 006? Seeing if any others in that group. Also looking over info for hotels to stay at. And if anyone knows for graduation if we have a larger family if extra guest might be able to attend. Thanks!
