Once they receive their first mail and write their first letters to you, they will only be allowed to write on Sundays/mail out Mondays but they will receive mail M-F.
littleman: They cannot write for the first 2 weeks, nor do they receive your letters. They are held from them until then. They must train the Recruit Mail Petty Officer first. You can write now if you want but just know that he may not get the letter right away. Not sure if tomorrow will be the first time they get their mail (the first time is usually on s Sunday...to receive held mail and to write) or next week.
Ok, there you go, littleman. pertlw and you have SRs in BROTHER divisions which means they train together! So look for Div 005 people on here too!
Welcome to the group, pertlw!
...also, more will keep joining this group, so be patient! I bet there will be more from Div 006! Many will wait and join once they receive their form letters.
Just got our letter from our daughter. Ship 03 Div 005. Very excited. Already had a letter waiting to go out. We shall see them shortly.
littleman: Sadly, only about 10-15 percent of the SRs at Bootcamp are represented on here, so you are correct. Not sure if the recruiters do not tell the SRs about this site....or....if they do and the SRs do not pass on the info. I actually found it by googling for Navy support for someone with a SR in Bootcamp when my son left back in 2009!
My mail has already ran and I have yet to receive a form letter. I also have not seen any other mom post anything from Div. 6 ship 3, I only know this information because I called the recruiter.I am starting to think that other Div. 006 ship 3 moms do not know about N4M and how Awesome the Vet. on here are....
