Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 001 and 002

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My wife grew up a navy brat and she and her family were stationed in japan, ( Misawa Japan) for two tours out of many as her father served 22 years, she is currently fulfilling her life long goal to also serve her country as a united states sailor as so many of her role models did before her, just like the men and woman did when she was a little girl, now it is her turn and when I spoke with her just this last weekend she told me that it was everything she had been expecting so far except it was not as physical as she had hoped but she is still expecting it to come in the upcoming weeks, I sure do miss my lady bug,

Rick my husband had the same complaint about it not being very physical .

So I just booked my hotel reservations at the navy lodge great lakes about a mile from "rtc" Thursday nov 14 - Sunday nov 17 just in case haha I mentioned graduation and the last name of my sr and for two queen beds it will be $66 a night

The physical training will soon start for them. The first few weeks is spent folding, learning, dental exams and dental work, eye exams, bloodwork, uniform fittings, first aid, grooming, studying, learning commands, seamanship, marlinspike, and some PT etc. As the weeks progress the PT and IT starts happening more and more.

My daughter wrote that they had IT once, but it wasn't so bad! She just said she hated how much she sweat!! lol

1/3 down everyone
I feel like the worst husband ever I lost reception on my phone today for an hour and a half and I have 4 new voice mails from my wife I feel terrible for missing her call

Hello all!! Our SR is in Div 001. We are from SW Fl.  He called yesterday and is doing awesome!!  He is going to Pensacola Fl for his A school as well.  Can't wait for the graduation and meet all of you.

Hi Ikn33990, so nice to meet you and welcome to the group.

Hi everyone! I just found this group! I have been stuck on all of the facebook pages and groups! lol My daughter is in DIV 002. We are from Northern California! She will be staying in Great Lakes for A School! Can't wait until Nov 15th!!!

Good Morning All!! I know this question was answered before but I don't remember.  I'm trying to get my sons phone line suspended while at boot camp but in order for Verizon to suspend his line they will need the following information -Those anyone know who the commanding officer is(name), his rank and home base I'm assuming that should be Great Lakes. Correct?

lkn33990, The Commanding Officers name is Captain John T Dye, and Great Lakes would be his base.
