Hey Everyone,
I thought this might be a good time to bring up this topic since we are only 32 days away from PIR. I currently live in sunny San Diego, CA and I am trying to figure out which outfits to bring to PIR for both my soon to be 16 month old daughter and I. I know it's going to be COLD but living in San Diego, it's kinda of hard to relate to how cold it really it could be. If any of the veteran moms, wives, or family members have any useful tips or hints on how to dress in really cold weather conditions or even snow please let us know.

Cold, windy, possibly rain/snow/ice. Dress in layers, layers, layers!! :)
It will probably be in the forties and fifties, but thirty something at night, but with the wind it can fell even colder. Coats, gloves, scarves, hats, would be recommended. Better safe than freezing. :)
If you can keep your hands, ears and feet warm, it's easier to keep the rest of you warm. Boots are a great thing, especially if they are the cute ones WITH fur/fuzzy stuff on the inside that you can also put an extra pair of socks inside. You can always take stuff off, but once you're chilled, it gets tough to get warm.
You can wear nice jeans, a dress (remember the weather) or a pant suit. We suggest business or dressy casual (if there is such a thing), remember your SR will be in Dress Blues. The weather will be chilly/cold and you will be doing lots of walking, so comfortable shoes is a priority. :)
So they will be in their blues?
New to this can you explain the difference in their whites and blues please?
My son is in Div 004 & graduating 11/15/13. This is Very Helpful! Thank you from another California mom.!!! I appreciate the picture explaining the difference between the dress blues & the dress whites :-)
My husbands last letter stated that RTC might have snow in about three weeks, which is right around his PIR. Hopefully if it does snow it's just a little and nothing too crazy lol. I do have to say I've ran into a few bump along the way of trying to figure out what kind of outfit to wear for his PIR. According to San Diego clothing stores winter clothing doesn't exist in our area lol.
