Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 007 & 008.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.
Hang in there!!!

ZacMansMom - I haven't heard to much from him, I got a very informative letter from him last week... I have my fingers crossed for getting another one Thrus. or Fri. Richard is 18 and we're from Maryland/DC area. I'm soooo excited and proud of him and all the SR and will be beaming at PIR. I totally understand about seeing him and then letting him go again so soon. But WE will be strong and show our boys they can do anything and they have our full support, even if it means our heart is breaking just a little cause as we watch them walk away, we still see them as that little boy walking away on the first day of school... Goodness, I miss him! :) Giving you a hug!
ProudMomofRichard- Thanks for the hug, counting down the days, we are almost there, 2 weeks ago I didnt think I would make it. Hearing his voice the other night, relieved me that he is OK! They are going to grow up fast now and move on, I am proud of each and everyone of the SR's. They are doing something in life that I do not know if I could. GO NAVY!!
Just got a phone call from my Sailor!! BEST 5 min phone call ever! It was SO good to hear his voice, even if it was a little hoarse! He said he had his wisdom teeth removed last week and now he's sick. I feel so bad for him! Only 4 more weeks though! They'll be out of there before we know it!! (:
Mi son just called, he sounded fine , I little bit stressed out I think; they got some kind of award and they're going to be allowed to make 1 hour phone call next week!!!!! The area is 847
I got a phone call last night as well!!! We were able to talk about 20 minutes and it was great. He sounds so great. I am counting down the days to get to go to PIR. I found it very funny that he was telling me about ironing all of his clothes, I didn't know he knew how to use an iron but I guess he was watching at some point.
I hope everyone gets a phone call as it is the most amazing thing to hear that voice on the other end say "Hi Mom!" I probably didn't let my poor husband say 20 words. I just can't help myself.
dmondrik-I'm glad you heard from your son too!!! Your right, hearing the "Hi Mom" was the greatest. Zach has made lots of friends, by chance your son's last name doesnt start with BO or SE? Trying to find some of his friends moms on here. Take care, looking forward to the next phone call! HAPPY DANCE!!!
Hi ZacMansMom!
My sailor's last name starts with BO but he is in div008.
grbsgirl20-I sent a friend request so I could message you the last name, I do not understand how much the two divisions are together, that stuff is confusing to me. BOV is the three intials I can give you. I just know two of his friends have been medically released and he prays BOV does not, because that is all he has left to make his days go easier. I know both their jobs are cleaning the HEADS and BOV is the head over this. hahah
Well if this is not one of Zachs friends, I wish your sailor well and hope he is doing great. I am so proud of all of them.
