OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

No mail today because of Columbus day. Bummer, I will have to wait until tomorrow.

Talked to my daughter today, actually twice, she was calling for the remainder of the information she needed. Sounded in better spirits, they were given mail late last week. She said they got some holiday time today to celebrate the Navy Birthday.

Kitty ~ We may have to have identifiers (something only obvious to us) on our vehicles as we drive the highways west! We may see each other along the route! ~kk

OC, CA. Gloomy out today but a nice change of pace from all the hot weather. They are talking about rain on Monday. Can anyone tell me what rain is?

Logicly I know this but from a mom stand point it makes me heart sore to hear tears in her voice. She is older then some (22.6) so it must be pretty tough if it is getting to her.

Got a call from my daughter at work today. It was a tough phone call. Yes she was calling for business purposes. But I made the mistake of asking if she was ok. She has been there for 2 weeks and hasn't gotten mail privilages yet. They are supposed to get mail next Sunday, and I know that she will have a whole stack since I have been sending stuff for more than a week. She said that she isn't sleeping through the night either, so I am sure the lack of sleep is contributing to the depression. It was just so hard to hear the break in her voice when she was talking.
