I am in P' Cola now. I have been living here since the day after Thanksgiving. Adam and I are doing well! I have met many people from ship 7 div 004. Its been great getting to know all of them and see them in a normal state and not the "boot er" stage. Navy mom- I know how you feel. Even living across the street from where my husband is I hate having to see him come and go SO much. But it will get easier with time. = )

Just finished my sailors last christmas gift. I created a "Puffy's adventure" book following Puffy's search for his girl. It turned out great, hoping she will love it. She will fly in Monday, and wish us luck as we will be driving across country to take her car back to Virginia Beach from California. Should be an interesting trip. As we will be on the road over New Years, a happy one to all.
Just so you know, in the front of the book I made a dedication to our girl, the recruits, RDC's and N4M of the PIR 11/20/09.

Couldn't have made it without you ladies. Thanks JM

Barbara(Katy'smom) ~ I realize you are very hurt right now. You are getting so much advice. Hurt hearts are so hard to handle. I hope you stand by your daughter with letters and emails. Cell voice mails are good too! In her mind, she has her reason(s) for how she is leading "her" life. Negativity will push her away. She has to come back on her own. She has a new boss/employer now; the Navy! As she travels through her Navy career, she will have many stressors. I hope you are there for her. I know this is hard to handle. As we raise our children into young adulthood, we give them love and support, instill ethics and morals - and hope they run with it. Sometimes it takes a while before they see your point of view or experience the realization of their choices. If, and when, they return "wagging their tails behind them," remember it is all a learning process and character building for all. ~ kk

the NEX Gift Card link:
https://www.navy-nex.com/command/customer_service/gift_card.htm

navymom09 ~ See above ^^^ ~ but allow processing & mailing time. The last one I ordered on a weekend and it was shipped the following Tuesday. I received it 2 days later. They charge a small fee for processing and mailing. You can get elaborate ones too - but seems like a waste of money to me. You can check the website for more information - but again; I do not suggest mailing them directly to the boot camp addresses. The base addresses would probably work. I am hanging one on our Christmas tree : ) ~ kk

Actually Puffy will be coming out with his first published book at Christmas time. Puffy's Adventures. Will be available to only one special sailor to open when she arrives on the 28th. Can't wait for her to see it.

I just went to the local sporting goods store and got underarmor cold wear, comes in black or white. Unseasonably cold her in the OC. It has been as cold as 45 some mornings and for this area that's cold. Hope everyone is staying warm and safe. Sounds like all our sailor are continuing to be cared for by their loving mothers. LOL

Jas could you tell me why the thermals have to be in black. I was getting some for my girl too and had planned on white ones. and underarmor is a great idea. She is not in gl but virginia beach, as a cali girl she is not use to the cold weather.
