Re: new Sailors and the Christmas/New Year Holiday ~ Some bases (A Schools) give a partial Liberty during these holidays to new Sailors. I have been told they try to give the new Sailors with children the Christmas portion and the new Sailors without children the latter part inclusive of New Years.

Ok, I will try. Most of the ones who went off base from GLhad been sent to A school in another state and were able to get liberty to spend Thanksgiving off base but had to report back for muster at 21:45. Mine is in Virginia Beach. She won't be home for Christmas but get the second rotation off base which is around the 28th through New Years. She will go in the hole only 2 days, since by then she will have only earned 5 days liberty. Hope that helps, usually the new sailors aren't given christmas unless the are married or have children.

Hi ladies, sent it to the address where she was to have Thanksgiving. Got there on Wednesday and she had it to talk to us on Thanksgiving along with some other things she wanted. Worked out great. Sorry your sailors didn't get their phones, maybe monday.

I talked to my girl today too. She will be spending Thanksgiving with a nice family that takes in Sailors for the holidays. I sent a box of things (2 day express, not cheap) to their address so that she would have it as soon as possible. She will have her cellphone, and a few other personal things, tomorrow so that she can talk to everyone for the holidays. Expects to phase up in about 2 weeks, so she can start wearing civies. And like Zac, she will be moving out of their mold filled barracks in about a week. She said that their shower ceilings leak from a pipe in an upper floor. Can't move soon enough I think.

That;s a possibility. I was talking to her on facebook and then suddenly she was gone, so I expect she had to leave in a hurry. She said that they were really nice at the USO but that the snacks lent themselves more to junk food and Aub is a really healthy eater.

Nope, Aub said that she was the only one on her flight, which didn't leave until after 2, that it was a small plane and she was waiting until after 7 est for travel to base.

Well, my girl has moved to her A school in Virginia. Bad part was she had to go to the airport in Chicago at 12:30 am and was still waiting to go to base at 4pm this evening. So tired, she was sleeping on and off at the USO.
