For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 015 and 016
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Hello my name is plantlady and my SR is in Ship 11 Division 15. Thanks to ellen0502's comment this morning on PIR 11/20/2015 TG02 I somehow surfed my way over to this page. plantlady, have you heard from your recruit recently? My daughter is on SHip 11, Division 15 and I have not heard from her in over 2 weeks. They are set to graduate on Friday and I am getting concerned that I haven't heard from her.

Shawna, Although my daughter is in Ship 11 Division 15, I understand these two divisions (15 & 16) train together. My daughter's MSO is CTN, what about yours? I've received several phone calls, one of which was given to her because she scored a 50 out of 50 on a written test. Her first letter arrived yesterday; how sweet it was to read her thoughts and see her words.

I just went to old Sarge's page and found a wealth of information. Some of which has been updated from other links and Navy information. Updated information as of June 2015. Wow lots to keep in mind and plan for PIR weekend. I'm making my list and checking it twice just to make sure.

Hi all...Just found this page, I have been AWOL from the posts for a while. My son is Ship 11, Div. 16, so he may be getting to know your kids. He is headed to Pensacola after GL. We are planning our trip to see him; plane tickets are purchased, we have rooms reserved in two hotels and need to pick one, and we have a rental car ready to go. We are getting letters most every Thursday now, and phone calls on Saturday late morning. Last week, I was in the apple orchard when he called, and we reminisced about the family day we had spent there the weekend before he left. He still hates the food, but he is enjoying the physical aspect of it all. And I cannot help but crack up that he is the laundry guy for his ship, or division or whatever, lol!
Hope all are well. I know my son has been sicker in boot camp than he has the past 10 years, but it is most likely a germ stew in there, like preschool, lol.

Hi Seasoned Mom and Colorado Mom, nice to meet you both. Hubby and I are staying at Navy Lodge and will be attending Sarge's Meet and Greet. In fact we have already RSVP'd on his web page to make sure we have a table. Are either of you going?
Seasoned Mom, you have an orchard...WOW this is a busy time of year for you with harvest and all. Where is your orchard? Are you making all kinds of apple goodie to bring with you to PIR - apple, pie, apple sauce, apple crisp, apple butter??
I'm trying to meet up with some division 15/16 families both at Sarge's and PIR. I read about making table centerpieces for Sarge's so have one done...Would either of you car to join us at our table? The more the merrier.

Hi Plantlady...No we don't have an orchard, sorry if that was misleading. My daughter and I have a favorite local orchard and we go there several times each fall to pick the Golden Delicious apples, and that is where my son found us when he called. I swear they are the best in NY State at this place, lol! And I have been making roasted applesauce ala Ina Garten almost weekly with the bounty of great apples here in NY, and it is so good! I am actually planning to try and bring a small container of eggplant parm to my son; he loves mine and said he has been dreaming of it, along with his sisters chocolate chip cookies! We have reservations at the Navy Lodge, but will not be attending the meet and greet. We will need to head to the airport to pick up our daughter; she cannot leave with us on Wed. so needs to fly in on Thursday night. Hopefully we can meet up either morning of PIR, or in the bleachers. I am writing down the great tips and hoping to get there early (husband is NOT a morning guy but I have threatened him ;) and get a great seat for the ceremony! Thank you for the offer, and it is a lovely centerpiece!

Seasoned Mom, I too have been taking in all the website has to offer. The admin are great and bring a boat load (pun intended) wisdom to the groups and discussions. I have also connected with this groups counterpart on Facebook. Between the two social media sites I am getting more and more prepared and have fewer and fewer questions. I'm a planner, but know there is still only so far I may go as the Navy's exchange of information is to their benefit and not mine. Our SR's travel plans to their "A" schools is one area I have little knowledge of. You sound like a great cook - eggplants and apple sauce included. We too have lots of apple orchards here in Wisconsin. This time of year the Nursery Schools make their annual field trips to many of our local farms and orchards. Pumpkins, gourds, and corn mazes are also a big hit. I have a great memory of going through a corn maze last year with my SR...Miss her so much.
