Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 015 & 016.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hello all, Im so overwhelmed with all the flight stuff and hotels and rental cars...I have so many questions before I can book this time...so I will ask and pray for answers.
1. I was going to book for tuesday the 20th thru the sunday the 25th, my question is, will our SRs be able to hang out over that weekend? Or will they only get to hang out PIR night and Thanksgiving?  I dont want to be there any longer than need be if I am not goin to spend that time with my son.

2. With that being the holiday will they be coming home after that? Im thinking the answer is no but I still have to ask to be certain.
3. When will we know what the plans are for after PIR? Like school etc..do our SRs tell us that and when do they know? How soon after PIR do they leave for school?
4. What hotels in the area have the shuttles to PIR and back?
Yikes I dont remember the rest but I guess thats a good start. Thank you for any info you can give me.
My son is ship 13 div 016. Add me as a friend if you have SR in the same.

Thank you

Oh also, do we take them anything such as their phones, ipods, clothes etc

I feel so out of touch LOL
thank  you all that answer

try to stay at the Navy Lodge it is close

your sailor will want a place to relax with family and may watch a movie or tv with his family, they usually go to the Navy Exchange to shop or go to a mall close by.  Dont be surprised when he says he wants fast food and a coke! So excited for your journey with your new Sailor hoo-yah!

is the Navy Lodge within walking distance? I won't have a car if I get there. If things work out, I'll need to stay close to everything.

My son is in Div 016.  did anyone hear from there SR 2day?? I am going to be flying in on Tuesday afternoon.  I have already reserved my meet and greet night with Sarge.  anyone else here attending?  I do have pics from the swear in day in San diego also.

Hello, My SR is Ship 13 Div 15. He is going into the PACT Apprentice Program, which means 3 weeks of training and then straight to a base after RTC. I'm from the South Chicago Suburbs, but I still booked a hotel for the 5 days because I know he has to be back to base every night and we live over 50 miles away. I plan to attend Srg. Meet and Greet.

Hello THetwoj, My son is alos ship-13 div15. He is going on to A school in Florida for 6 months.  I also look forward to Srg. Meet and Greet. We have relatives just over 60 miles away and was hoping that we could bring our SR to their thanksgiving, What do you think?

Hi Thetwoj, my husband is also ship 13 div 015 and in the PACT program. His training is there in great lakes so he has to sign in there before liberty after grad, and he said they get the Thanksgiving Day liberty and nothing after that. Have you heard whether or not your SR gets a leave before he goes off to a base after training?

My Son is ship 13- DIV 16. So- looking forward to PIR! Seems like he left forever ago!

I haven't heard from him yet, but I am pretty sure we won't for awhile longer! Glad to "meet" you all!

My son is with your son.. :)  I have not received an offical letter from him only the form one.  I will be coming from Orange County CA on Tuesday, and I have made my reservations already with Sarge.  I look forward to meeting you.  I hope to get a letter WED....

My son is with your son's too. I'm so confused as to what day to come home. I haven't booked anything yet. What day are you guys planning on going back home?
