Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Where is a good place to have thanksgiving dinner ?? And should we make reservations.

I was doing some hunting on the internet and came across this list from last year. It looks like all of these restaurants are within a reasonable distance from the base. Since it is last years info I am not sure if they will still be serving this year or what the new price might be but it might be worth looking into. Just a few more options....Enjoy your day

Restaurants offering Thanksgiving dinners and buffets in Lake County, in the northern suburbs of Chicago, offer the traditional Thanksgiving meals and more. Following are some of the restaurants offering Thanksgiving meal on November 24, 2011. Information is subject to change. Reservations are strongly recommended, as Thanksgiving has become a popular day for eating out.

Chessie's 111 Grill at the Ice House Mall in Barrington offers a hugh Thanksgiving Buffet at 12 p.m. & 2 p.m. Tickets $25.95/adults, $12.95 children.

The Country Squire Restaurant in Grayslake offers a Thankgiving Buffet in the Ballroom and Dinner off the menu in the Mansion from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Buffet price is $23.95/adults, $14.95 children.

David's Bistro in Antioch will be open on Thankgiving day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m, offering a regular lunch menu.

Dover Straits in Mundelein offers Thanksgiving Dinner from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. The resaurant offers the regular menu, Turkey Dinner for $18 and Prime Rib Dinner for $20.

Karma Restaurant, located in the Doubletree Hotel in Mundelein, is offering Thanksgiving from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. The plated Thanksgiving Day dinner is priced at $25.95 for adults and $11.95 for children.

King's Wharf Restaurant at Marriott in Lincolnshire offers a Thanksgiving Brunch Buffet from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost $45/Adults, $18/children.

Illinois Beach Resort in Zion offers Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet from 11 a.m. to 4 :30 .m. Cost $27.95 adults/$12.95 children.

W. Anderson Restaurant at Key Lime Cove in Gurnee is offering a Thanksgiving Buffet from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Seatings are at 12 p.m, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. ($26.95 adults/$139.5 children). A special dinner menu will be available after 4 p.m.

Lovell's of Lake Forest is offering Thanksgiving dinner from 12 p.m. t o7 p.m. Choose from five main entrees, priced from $48 to $62. Kids meals are available.

Saddle RidgeBanquets at the Ramade Inn in Waukegan offers theThanksgiving Grand Ballroom Buffet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets priced at $20.95/adults, $11.95 for children.

Savanna House in Wadsworth offers Thanksgiving Dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets $18.95/adults, $14.95 seniors, $9.95 children.

Seasons of Long Grove offers a Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Cost $27.95adults, $13.95/children.

Thanks for this info it will sure help! This will be my very first Thanksgiving meal not being home cooked, never have I experienced a restaurant dinner. It should be lots of fun especially with my son to share. Thanks again.

Thanks, CTownmom!  We were just talking about this...  It will be strange having Thanksgiving in a restaurant (or in our hotel room!), but a very fitting meal to share with our brand new Sailors.  :-)

Here is some information I have found:

Premium Dinner $12.29 per person--includes:

chicken, turkey or ham

Delux Dinner $10.29 per person--includes:

We drove by there last night and I saw the sign outside their restaurant.
