WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I actually got a call from my son on a Sunday when he was there.  So you just never know!

Ladies:  The 3 week calls can come at any time...and some don't get them at all....so just keep that phone handy all of the time...even in the bathroom and when getting the mail!

I was so excited to think about hearing from my son, I thought it would be on a Sunday that he would call. I am sorry to get everyone's hopes up for a call today.

My son said he would call in 3 weeks. I was hoping maybe today. Course he didn't get to boot camp until Monday so maybe tomorrow. I will be so excited to hear from him.

Do they get to call on the third Sunday? Or is it when they have been there for 3 full weeks? My son left on Thursday, 9/27, when should I expect the call?

Thanks for the words navywife&mom. I appreciate it. It does take a strong person to be married into the military. I wasn't so sure I could do it. I've been having a really rough three weeks. Crying constantly and I didn't even feel like working; HOWEVER, I received my first letter from my SR this morning. I was out of town yesterday and came home to it. This letter is what makes me believe I can do this. She tells me everything she could and has time for. In response, I wrote two ten page letters. I didn't know I had so much to say! From that, I know I'm going to be okay. It's been one rough ride so far but getting her letter was what I needed. I know it's not going to be a walk in the park still but at least I know she is okay.

I too am hoping that some of us get some calls today.  How exciting.

Great post navywife&mom, it takes a strong woman to be a military wife <3 You could be a great source of information for the young wives and girlfriends starting out on this journey and I thank you for being here. I am sure it is a little different having your child in boot camp but we are all here for you as well :)

It is so good to see that you guys are getting some awesome notes and letters. It really warms your heart to get any kind of communication from them.

Good morning navy family <3
