WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I know the non communication with your GF isn't helping right now.  Coming from a Navy wife of 22 years the best advice I can give you is to find yourself OUTSIDE of the military member.  For her to make it through BC and EOD school YOU NEED TO BE STRONGER THAN HER!

I have spent many nights alone BC the needs of the Navy were more important.     But, I have learned to be the solution and not the problem and that is to just be there when they are with you.  Even if they seem distant they will eventually talk.

Hey everyone my daughter left for BC on 26 Sept and is in DIV18.

I know our group seems to be the group that gets stuff the week after everyone else.  I read somewhere that they were still getting recruits in on 1 OCT.  The Div may be accelerated until they catch up with the rest of PIR 11/21.  That translates to NO holiday routine, which means NO SUNDAY to write letters as of yet.  Hopefully this Sunday 14 OCT they will.

I was away for a week and came home to 3 letters and a form letter telling me that PIR is he 21st but had a note from him on it! First letter he says how challenging bootcamp is but is strong knowing the rewards that will come from it! Second one was short and mentioned that the food was good also you need to get used to not being able to do what like go to the gym or a movie but still sounds postive. The third one made feel like he is adjusting to a new way of life and he recieved my letters and he said that it made him feel much better all the encouragement!!! Tuesday will be 3 weeks so I hope I get a call I know to keep writing the letters!!!

Are they calling tomorrow pinkladybug? I have not heard that, what a wonderful treat that would be.

Does anyone one know about what time they will be allowed to call tomorrow? We will be at church services but after I will be glued to the phone waiting.

Good evening ladies. Happy to announce I heard from my son. He's doing good and said he has met some very fabulous friends. He said that receiving mail is the best feeling, it's like Christmas. Hope all of you who have not received a letter yet will be getting one very soon!!!
