OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Anybody with a SR in Ship 13 Div 012 received a letter yet? I sent my son a book of stamps this morning and begged him to write. Just wondering?

Sailors staying in GL for A School do have to report back to their ship each night. There is no overnight liberty for them.

The time they must be back can vary from 8pm to 10pm, but generally remains the same time each night. So if they must be back by 10pm it would probably be that way every night.

They do have to be back to their ship no later than the time stated, if they are late they can have their liberty for the rest of the weekend taken away. Always have them back early.

Congrats to all who got letters... Enjoy! I have a question on the SR's that are staying in GL, does liberty end at the same time (9pm)? Or are they allowed to stay out later or over night?

Yes, "sparklies" or glitter is "bad". Messy and hard to clean up. they have compartment inspections and it would be a "hit" if it is around.

For those with SRs staying in GL. From the RTC posting they will move over to the TSC side for school on Wednesday after PIR. You will prbably have about an hour after PIR before they have to go back to their ship to move. The process takes a few hours, but when they are finished they do get liberty, so sometime between 2:30 and 5pm you will be able to get them again for the rest of the day.

I am assuming at this point that since Fri-Sun is a holiday for them they would also have liberty those days too. They most likely will be able to leave at approx 6am and must be back to their ship each night no later than 10pm (these times can vary). Their liberty may be interrupted by duty watch at some point too.

I would plan on staying until at least through Sunday night, or Monday morning if possible.

Your sailors cannot drive or have their vehicle in A School at all, the exception is if they are married (they have to submit a chit to do so I believe).

Yes! I heard anything outside of a white envelope and paper is out. No sparkles or noisy cards or pop-ups. I can't wait to see him. This has been a long month. I carry my phone everywhere so I don't miss the hello call.

...my comment below on the cell phones is for GL A School students.  Those flying out have to receive their phones from family at the airports.

Comment by diannep on October 11, 2012 at 9:41pm

Yes, the A School students will be able to have their cell phones once they have liberty with you and return to the base.

"ellen" may have the info on personal vehicles being allowed at A School.  Not sure they can have them in the beginning...may need to "phase up" first.

Comment by diannep on October 11, 2012 at 9:39pm

I believe that GL A School students, who move over right after PIR to their new base, will have liberty Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun, other than "watch" times.

I bet he will get lots of letter Julia, just make sure your facebook friends know not to send goodies and care packages :-) Some well meaning friends may not know that.
