I think the funniest thing I seen on these forums was one mom that use to run out every time the mailman delivered mail. The mailman was confused on how she knew exactly when he put mail in the mailbox (he thought she watched out the window like a dog waiting for his master). She told him that she bought a "driveway alert" announcer, and every time he opened the box, it rang like a doorbell. Very smart lady! It really bummed out the mailman though, he thought is was because he was handsome.

Hi Tammy, I am going to Sarge's meet and greet at Sundance Saloon. There is a site on face book that is called calls for recruits letters to home and there is a list of names of SR's that do not get mail or need extra pick me up. So, you can write to them. I enjoy it and I received a letter back today from one of them. They do like when you write to them. What division is your son in Tammy?
I stalked my mailman too.My son ended up in a push division so the form letter took 22 days to get to me, and the first personal letter 34.
I sometimes took my lawn chair and a book and just sat at the end of the driveway. I of course explained it to him and my neighbors as the last thing I wanted to see was men in white coats coming to haul me away, or the local police department stopping in front of my house telling me I was scaring the mailman.
The mailman would pull up and just shake his head no. When he got there with the first letter, I told him I would kiss him if I knew his name, and if he was single. He laughed at me, said his name was Fred and he was married. I just said no kiss for you, but I will give you cookies tomorrow!
Hi proudnavymom, that is wonderful of you to write to other SR's. What meet and greet are you planning on attending?
I think pretty much every Navy Mom has stalked the mailman lol. I sat on my porch swing every afternoon at 4:30 waiting for mine to come. I am sure he thought I was nuts. But I did leave cookies in the box explaining that I really wasn't crazy lol. After boot camp I really missed stalking the box and getting letters every week.
Tammy, glad to know I'm not the only mom stalking the mailman!
Hello Navy Moms, I do not spend as much time on Navy for Moms as I do Navy for Moms on facebook. I have met some great ladies on there and there son's are in the same division as my son. He is in division 018. I plan on going to the meet and greet and would love to get to know more of you Moms. I live in Illinois so if you need to know anything like weather, places to stay,etc.. I can try to help the best I can. I miss my son so dearly! I have not received any letters from him as of yet. But I have mailed many and have written to other SR's that are not receiving mail! Looking forward to getting to know some of you!
Ctownmom, so happy for you. I still havn't received a letter. My mailman thinks I'm crazy too bayoukat110.
