WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ctownmom:  All have different experiences at bootcamp, but if he is loving it, HOOYAH!  Go with the good news!

Ctownmom, I am so happy for you! I think my mailman thinks I've gone crazy. As soon as I hear the mailbox open, I'm out the door before the mail is in it.

Ctownmom, so jealous you got a letter!

That is great.. I am happy for you that you not only received the letter from your SR, but that he loves it.  Congrats..

Ok - Veteran Moms I have a question. I received a letter from my SR today and he sounds like he is loving BC. Is this strange? MY only thought is that if he really is enjoying this then he made (and we encouraged him) to make the right choice. I hope he isn't miserable and just trying to cover it up. I guess I will know more if he writes more.

Thanks for listening.

I too am coming from California.  I am planning on Thanksgiving in Chicago.  From everyone that I have talked to I feel pretty good about spending that day with my Sailor.. Can not wait..

MMMmom - I am excited to hear that you are going to the meet and greet.  I would love to meet you.  I am traveling by myself.  My son is with your son Ship 13 div 016.. my letter too was wrong but the recruiter says that it is the day before Thanksgiving.. I am coming from California.  Tickets were not very cheap.. I looked into the train, bus, and even driving by myself.. Ended up with flight.. I have not received any letters from my son.. Was hoping that I would get one today, but did not.

Im living in chicago and the weather in here is crazy so who now is going to have snow or not.

Comment by LA Mom on October 10, 2012 at 5:07pm

we will be driving from Louisiana because plane tickets for 6 people will be so outragous, so my question is, What's the weather like around Thanksgiving?? I am scared to drive if there will be snow & ice.  Anyone remember last couple Thanksgivings so maybe my mind can ease!! Thank U
