...oh, and yes, you or your SR can order a copy of the PIR DVD ($29 I think). He can order this at the time he orders the piks or you can order it after PIR in the NEX on base.
pinkladybug: No, you won't see your sailor at the MeetandGreet. Just for the family/friends of the new sailor. Years ago, that was considered "Family Night" and families did get time with their sailors then.
Your SR probably will meet with a classifier and find out at that time which A School he will be attending.
Good Morning All!
RuRu: It's hard to plan for Thanksgiving weekend. "Never say never" is a motto in the Navy. It is possible that she would fly to TX on Fri or Sat. Doubtful on Sunday which is a heavy travel day....anything can happen though!
Good Morning All!

MMMmom - Yes, many of the Form Letters were wrong and the official date is Wednesday 11/21/2012.
My son is ship 13 div 016, I am so excited I understand that PIR on form letter was wrong and the date is 11-21-2012 right???
I agree Lala!!! I am Flying in from California I am have kids back home I am not sure if I should plan my Thanksgiving in Chicago or plan to come back to California. Will my daughter have time before she leaves for A school she said before she left she was going to Texas! Will that change at all? This is hard to invest so much time in money and and have no clue what to expect!
Thetwoj, I am so sorry to hear that. I agree that God has a plan and you both should hold you heads high. It takes a very special person to make the commitment to serve their country even if it doesn't work out they should still be proud and strong for having the courage to try. I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.
I posted this on the wrong wall, Craig and lemonelephant, do you know where we could get a coin like that before graduation? Also, any thoughts on good place for Thanksgiving dinner?
thanks for the info...yes my name is on list. i know based on his job in navy there was about 6 different places he could go to A school. just wondered when he would know which one. I understand no one knows, but just wondering what the weather will be like in Nov. what about the meet and greet, do we get to see our recruit at these? did i understand that we could get a copy of the ceremony?
