WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Did I see something on here about Ship and Division Groups being posted? My SR is on Ship 13 Division 15 and I can't find a group.

But it shows 902 alone...do they not have brother divisions?

Comment by diannep on October 8, 2012 at 10:15am

GoNavy:  Brother divisions mean that 2 divisions train together.  So they know each other well.  All of their training is done as a group.  Many of my son's good friends were actually in his brother division.

Awe, I am so sorry Gail. I wish they did the Candygrams in bootcamp as well. The proceeds from the Candygrams sent on her ship are used to help Navy families. They are done by the FRG. When you Sailors get to their bases after they finish with school be sure and have them sign you up for the FRG (Family Readiness Group) It is a wonderful source for information. They have meetings and do all kinds of fun things for the families of Sailors. It is especially helpful for Sailors spouses and children. And it is the only way to know when they will be back from workups or deployments. They also send newsletters about and from the ship and a letter from the captain :-)

LaLa has a Sailor, not a recruit at BC. She sent it to her ship at sea. :-)

How do you send a candyogram ? I thought I saw someplace that food items are frowned on. If this is not

Good evening everyone, so sorry I have been MIA so much this weekend. This is fall break for our daughter that is in college. So she is home this weekend and it is the first time we have seen her since dropping her off at UNCW in August. It is good having her home. Not sure how she likes her room now that I turned half of it into a craft room lol :-) At least she still has a bed hehe. She definitely likes being able to find all the craft stuff so easily. Tomorrow we are making decorations for her dorm room door halloween decoration contest. How could she loose with me to help her? lol

We also heard from our Sailor again, she is doing well, working 7 days a week but they did get to watch the GA/SC game last night although she was not happy with the outcome. I sent her a candygram on her ship :-) I can't wait until she gets it, she has no idea :-D
