OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ladies, I hope that you will participate in your division/brother division discussions above (remember, your SRs all know one another since the 2 divisions train together), but be sure to stay on the main PIR page too.  Bring all questions to that page so that we N4Moms veterans can try and answer them.  We don't have time to go through all of the divisions on each PIR group (we are on about 8 PIR groups at one time!).  But we want to make sure that you get complete and accurate info!

So.....for any questions, please just post here!

Sorry to interrupt the flow... The Division DISCUSSIONS are formed for this PIR GROUP.
Please do not form new ones.
Please take a look at the titles for the Division Discussions and post a reply on there.
If you have created a separate Division Discussion, please delete the discussion.
To delete a discussion you have started:
Click on the link to it.
Once there, click "Options" at the top right.
From the drop down box choose delete discussion and wait until it is done. (There willow be a prompt asking you to wait.)

We just ask this please as it is less hopping around for the members.

BMLMOM: I am hoping that a lot of moms and dads from this PIR group will go to the meet & greet. I have made some really nice friends thru all of this and a lot of moms have gotten me though some rough times missing my son! Like I have been hearing no news is good news! So, yes I am hoping they are all working together! I have alos read a lot of people not getting ther form letter. I got mine Friday. It has info in there about PIR. Did you get your son's address? if not I can give it to you since they are in the same div/ship? Let me know.

Is there anywhere on this site that can give us more info on what the SR's are doing on a weekly basis? What phase of the procees they are in?
Comment by diannep on October 7, 2012 at 10:17am

The divisions are not composed of only people with the same jobs.  My son's division/brother division had all different jobs in it (they start with about 88 SRs in each but lose some, and then gain more back who were delayed from earlier PIR groups).  Although some DO have the same jobs.  So, yes, there are ones in their division/brother division who will be attending A School together, which is nice.

Lala will have more info on the 900 division, but I believe they ask who has experience in drill teams, singing, band, etc....and put some of those in there.  Usually they have to have high ASVAB scores since they will be practicing for performances, performing in other PIRs, and still keeping up with training, so they want the ones who will be successful at this.  All in the 900 divisions are not involved in drill, singing, band, etc....some will be selected to "work" at PIRs like manning doors, handling the VIPs needs, behind the scenes work.

Hope this helps!

Great question from our discussion group - USS Triton. Thanks!

dannysmom(ship 12 div 009) 5 hours ago

just wondering how they work out the divisions? is it based on rates? i noticed some divisions have jobs, like ribbons or band, how did they decide that i wonder and does div 009 have anything special or different going on?
