Nicole's Mom Thanks for posting about the Keel book. I am looking forward to receiving it. Where is your Sailor?
We had a great 11 days with my sailor over Christmas. She had a wonderful time reconnecting with her family and friends. She is now stationed in Everett, WA on board the USS Nimitz. She misses the friends she made in boot but has made several new friends since she's been at her new duty station. Very proud of her. I have not received the DVD or year book yet.
Happy New Year Ladies - I hope was able to spend some time with their sailors over the holidays. We were able to have our son home for 12 days. It was a nice treat. However, after 10 days my son said to us " I don't know how this family gets anything done around here it is so disorganized." This comes from a child who wouldn't clean his room (I can't tell you how many bags of garbage I removed after he left for boot camp.), berated us for being to strict and requiring way to much from him. I couldn't help chuckling under my breath. He was so ready to get back to Great Lakes and back to his schooling. My how he has changed (for the better). I would love to know where all the other sailors are after boot camp. I hope is well with all of you.
@KristenLynn - we have not received the dvd or the yearbook yet. I hope they come soon.
@ Dannysmom, congrats on being able to spend time with your sailor. I know mine is about ready to head back to GL. While he has enjoyed his time at home he is ready to get back to sailor life as he says he misses it and his buddies. I could not be more pleased at the man he is becoming and know he made the right decision for himself when chose to join.
Happy New Year to all !!!!
we just had a great 10 day break and christmas, he is leaving for mayport florida in a few hours, gone again! worries start again, a new set of worries until he tells me he is settled in and happy at his new job.
It has been a little over a month since this group graduated. I am blessed to have my sailor home for the holidays (and his birthday which was yesterday). I hope all of you are enjoying your holidays. It would be nice to hear where everyone is after the new year and how you are all adjusting to life with a sailor in the US Navy. I am getting to listen to stories from boot camp and we are sharing many laughs with our son. It is nice that the stress from boot camp is over. Prayers for all that may be traveling and that you reach your destinations safely and for phone call for those who are unable to be with their sailors.
Merry Christmas!
