OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Underwear is on the top of most of their lists!  Just remember, they cannot take this back to RTC with them...you have to give it to them at the airport.  The GL A School students have no problem taking it back because they don't have liberty until after they have moved over to that base.

The girls usually head to Victoria's Secret for their purchase!  :-)  I remember a story on here from one mom whose daughter reported that when she returned to GL A School base with her "pink bag" along with her friends with the same bags, the young sailor at security said in his sweet drawn out southern accent:  Ahhhh Lawd....I have to check your pink bags..

So cute!  He knew what was in there!

So happy for the phone calls received!  Two more days of I'm a Sailor calls....and then you are ready for.......LIBERTY CALL!  That is a heart stopping moment...just don't get trampled!

Ladies a reminder.  You only have about 10 minutes in the PIR Hall after PIR to get your hugs, piks, etc before they will clear the hall.  So head straight for the sailor and get started when you get the liberty call!  :-)

Good Morning All!

pinkpuddles:  At OHare, the USO is before security, so he can wait for you there--an easy place for you to find him (although there may be lots of sailors/families in there).  Then he can go with you to the airlines counter to get the gate pass if you want to wait at the gate with him until departure.

OR....you could drop him off at RTC PIR night, go back to the hotel and sleep a few hours, and head out to the airport in the wee hours of the morning, and be there when the busses arrive!  :-)

Mikesnavymom... I second Debnchris. We are doing thanksgiving together... So we would be HONORED to have him with us!!!! My SR is Div 15

Today was a HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY DAY!!!! I FINALLY got to talk with my son... Kellyd... All others in DIV 15. Congrats on Captains Cup!! :) my son was stoked about that!!! This was the first time he'd called me!!! He said he hadn't called because he knew I'd get upset which in turn would make him upset!!! I get it!!! I don't even care about that anymore. I was just sooooo excited to finally hear his voice!!!! I had to fight back the tears... But we're definitely tears of Joy!!! I just LOVE that boy!!!!! :) sooooo proud. I don't think the smile has yet worn off my face yet!!!! Can't wait for that I'm a Sailor call and to see him in just a few days... And like the others... He wants underwear... But of course he wants to go to the mall to get new ones. Lol. I gues he's earned that. Lol. Sure hope the next few days FLY by!!!! Continued prayers for all in need!!!! :)

Yes we'll I am glad I didn't yell at the GF for getting a call when she didn't. That would have been awkward.
Comment by pinkpuddles on November 18, 2012 at 12:19am

He said that some got the phones some got to get on facebook.  It just depended on how long til the next div came in to use the phones...so time was limited depending on who else came in, so if Gabe opted for FB first he may not have got in line in time for the phones....that is too funny though you know they are missing the outside world when they head straight for FB....LOL

That was the first thing my SR asked for in his letters and the 2 phone calls we got.
Comment by pinkpuddles on November 18, 2012 at 12:17am

The other thing my son asked for was BOXER BRIEFS! who knew underware would be top on his list!

Well I got on Facebook earlier and Gabe had posted he was graduating on Wednesday. Not knowing what I learned later about being allowed on FB, i got upset and thought that he had called his GF and she posted it. She said she didn't talk to him.
I wonder why he didn't call.
Pink, you are so right. God has plans and doesn't work in our time frame, only His.
