Brian's Mother - I agree, call Sarge. He will be a GREAT help..
I just want to "second" what diannep said about Liberty. I had checked last year’s GROUP as well and found the same thing, those flying out had PIR day and Thanksgiving for Liberty and flew out Friday. There is also a post up above that RTC had put on their FB Page in the Notes section.
I just hope that it remains true.

You have all prepared and have all made your plans and I hope that you will all be pleasantly surprised in that it does happen the way RTC has said.
My son PIR'd on Memorial Day weekend on a Thursday. I flew over there on Tuesday full well expecting him to leave the next day. While I was flying over he called my cell. I got the message late that night once I go to the Hotel. He now had Liberty PIR day, Friday and Saturday and was leaving Sunday.
I had anticipated this (thanks to my PIR veteran mommas!) and made the decision to book through until Sunday and so was able to have those extra days with him! BUT, I was prepared not too and would just sight see if we didn't.
What a joy it was, and what a joy it was to be able to post that on my PIR GROUP that Tuesday night!
diannep, LaLa, Betsy...they were all MY Veteran Moms! They were so happy for us all! Felt so good to read their comments!
I hope that will be the case for us as well.
If you want some expert help with directions, text Sarge at 847-212-0146. He helped me tremendously.
mrehm: RTC had said a while back that this group would fly out on Friday, the 23rd. Then some SRs reported different timetables. However, I checked the Thanksgiving group from last year and they flew out on Friday, so thinking that will be the plan. Remember, you can visit with your sailor at the airport! Get a gate pass (with proper ID) and wait at the gate with him/her!
By the way, thank you for your service to your country! We love having veterans on here who have SRs now!
Thanksgiving Dinner options are up above in the Discussion Forum!
KellyD; Wow....well-- huge kudos to Kings Wharf for not only relaxing their reservation policy for you, but for appreciating your son! Shame on Seasons of Long Grove! I'm thinking if they have a website where you can put comments, you may want to post there about how awful they were to you....and how wonderful Kings Wharf was. :-)
Brian's Mother - We will be getting into Chicago at around 9:17am on Tuesday. First time in Chicago so I couldn't tell you the best route. Are you flying in or taking the train. We are flying in from upstate NY.
