WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Diannep always helping us!! Thank you! I will be at the airport with open arms!!
Comment by diannep on November 16, 2012 at 5:46pm

Julia>  Do not believe that about not meeting them at the airport.  It is not a new rule, but seems to 'be told" to some of the sailors in some of the PIR groups---has gone on for a long time---once we even thought it was a security thing at the airport, called, and were told that families are welcome there.

RTC is no longer in charge of your sailors once they have left the base....the USOs at the airports take over, and there are "sailor leaders" in the group.  There is no way they can keep families from meeting the sailors at the airport...unless....they are on a charter flight to A School which means no family visits, and we haven't heard of those lately.

So ladies, please plan on being there for your sailors (with ID so that you can get an airlines gate pass to wait at the gate with your sailor).

Here are the USO numbers for both OHare and Midway if you want to confirm that it is ok....:

OHare USO 773-686-7396

Midway USO  773-582-5852

Everyone please read. My SR said new rule I can not meet him at airport. You may want to confirm when your SR calls.

"Phones in the Bras" on I'm a Sailor call day -- that is a very common thing!  You sure won't miss the call then!  :-)

Comment by diannep on November 16, 2012 at 5:29pm

Ok, all of this time, I have been saying 08-012 went last night,  Well, DUH....008 isn't in this group---they actually went this past Wed night....HA!  Sorry....I meant 09-012 went last night.  We now know that at least 009/010 confirmed by Julia's call from her SR in 010 (congrats!)....pretty sure that 011/012 went too.  Sorry about that!

Comment by diannep on November 16, 2012 at 5:26pm

bayoukat:  The Christmas holiday info will have to come from his A School.  Sorry I can't help more on that.....I would hate for you to miss PIR though...if he makes it through!  You don't leave until Monday night, right?  PAO should know before then if he passed on Monday morning---so hoping that you can get through on Monday.

I don't know why no one is answering at the PAO but assuming that they are snowed under with calls because of changing PIR info in the future PIR groups (especially the Nov 30th group).

Julia, CONGRATS!!! Keep the calls coming...praying for all
