WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Maya's Mom- I flew into and out of Milwaukee. It was very easy to get there. No tolls :-).

I need some help. My sailor has 15 days of leave and she is coming home for Christmas before she ships out. I have heard it is cheaper to fly out if Milwaukee instead of Chicago. When some of you went to PIR. Did any if you fly into or out of Milwaukee. Any help is appreciated. Also I just want to add.... This website has been a life saver and I truly appreciate all of the helpful information that has been given. You ladies ROCK!

The Keel came first for me and then the DVD.
I know the DVD took at least eight weeks. So, I want to say the Keel was a about a month.
But then I've seen that in the reverse order for some!
So, approx one month for one and two months for the other.

Does anyone know anything about the keel book. It was part of the $140 photo package. Will it be sent later?

Does anyone know how long it takes after PIR to get the DVD in the mail?

Blessings to you as well Ctownmom. I agree it was an awesome feeling and experience to see our Sailors for Thanksgiving. Yes BC is behind us on to bigger and better things. I agree with how you feel we don't expect a call or a text or email everyday, but we now have that "Liberty" to freely to speak to our sons or daughters. Thank goodness for that I'm very grateful. Grateful for all my new friends of the Navy Family. God Bless each and everyone of you always!

I hope all of you enjoyed your holiday with your new sailors. It was awesome to reconnect with my son and to be able to put boot camp behind us. The best part now is being able to communicate with him via phone, text, and e-mail. I know we will not speak every day but know I can reach out and just say good morning or good night has made a world of difference. I hope all is well for you and your sailors. Blessings on the upcoming holiday season.
