OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

So from what I gather there is still hope that my SR might be able to graduate. Thank you guys for your prayers. I must say they have helped. When I woke up this morning feeling overwhelmed with sadness that then turned to anger because my SR has always had to learn the hard way. About 30 minutes ago I suddenly felt like everything was going to be OK regardless of what happens in the next few days.

Ru Ru:  We can't post BattleStations dates on this site (just private message).  I will message you.

Too funny, bayoukat!

kellyd:  They train in division number order...lowest to highest (except 800 and 900 groups).  So lower-numbered divisions are further ahead in tests/training.

If they do not pass their PFA by their BattleStations day, they have the opportunity to call home and tell you...sometimes saying, don't come, won't graduate, etc...don't believe this...they get more chances but for some reason, some RDCs don't tell them this at first.

Anyway, not all will make that call.  In the past, we have seem ladies post that they found out their SR was too ashamed to call home....awwww.....so hard to hear that.  But they are given the chance to call, or are supposed to be given it.

Keep praying, kelly.  What division is your SR in? Phone calls (I'm a Sailor)for 008-012 should be coming in this afternoon, sometime after 2 pm GL time, most likely.  Again....for you, go on the NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS.  It is amazing how much they can bring up their running times!

Good Morning All!

Thanks Diannep.

Good Morning!

Ok, is there a rhyme or reason to what order the ship/div operate in when it comes to the PFA?

I am trying hard not to borrow trouble here but if they didn't pass do they automatically get to call home or did the group last night just happen to get phone priveledges?

I have also added to prayers that God will give my SR and all SR's who are struggling, Peace of mind to know that they can do it before they start. Beleiving you can do it is part of the battle too.

I would tell you that I wil prayer for your SR's but honestly since last night I have done nothing but prayer.

Kelly

My train departs at 7:30 pm Monday night. Just knowing there is a chance I might be able to find out if he passed sometime Monday helps. Thank you so much for all your help and information. Since you are praying for wings on his feet, I'm going to pray he gets the lead out of his rear end! Sorry I have to make a joke and laugh to prevent the tears from flowing.
Comment by diannep on November 16, 2012 at 12:27am

bayoukat:  I'm so sorry.  With PIR for them being a couple of days early (its usually on Friday), that shortens his chances to pass.  Normally he would be able to try again on Wed too (which he actually will, but of course that is too late to PIR).

When were you to leave on Amtrak?  You can call the Public Affairs Office on Monday to ask if he passed.  They should be able to tell you.  He would be trying again Monday morning.  The number is 847 688 2405.  Praying that he has wings on his feet!

kellyd:  The divisions do not all do their PFAs at the same time.  If any went yesterday and didn't pass, they should be able to try again tomorrow, and then again Monday if necessary.  Try to go on the no news is good news theory for now!  I agree with what the recruiter said....the RDCs are doing everything possible to get your SRs to become sailors!
