OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

When should we expect the "I''m a sailor"  call for Division 902?  Does anyone know if they will have the Captains Cup on Saturday?

That is AWSOME news about Brett!!!  God is SOOOOO GOOD!!!! Glad to hear how well he is doing.... He is definitely a MIRACLE!!

Can't wait for the next week to fly by... but I wish the time with our SRs would go by SO SLOW and be NEVER ENDING... but I know that is not the case, so I will eat every second of it up and enjoy it all!! :-)

Hope to meet you all at Sarges... :-)

Thanks so much, pinkpuddles and collins, for the "Brett' prayers!  Guess what????  Just heard...surgery CANCELLED.  Wanna know why?  His lung is no longer collapsed!  WHAT?  Blood/scar tissue still there, but lung is reinflated....and they think that the body will absorb those tissues eventually.

GOD IS GOOD!  Brett is now asking for another smoothie!  :-)  Keep praying....the Lord's listening!  :-)

I have to tell you I called the Navy Lodge to find out where we can get Thanksgiving Dinner and what is close, check in etc and the woman that answered the phone was so NICE!  You could feel her smiling through the phone.  So rare in service industry today.  Just wanted to share and tell everyone 6 days and counting!  God is good and were all going to see our guys/gals so soon.  Be safe on your trips.  Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Still praying for Brett and his family!

Thanks LaLa Ribbons for the "it won't be long." I'm super excited!! My smile gets brighter everyday, as I'm sure the other moms are experiencing the same thing too.

gail:  I know my son's A School room which was in Mississippi was like a college dorm suite.  He had a roommate, they shared a "common area" with  I believe another bedroom (maybe two?).  It is a nice "upgrade" from what they lived in at bootcamp!

collins:  Thanks for asking about Brett.  He had a setback yesterday.  They found that he had a collapsed lung. Sigh...unable to reinflate with the method they tried yesterday.  He is scheduled for yet another surgery today because of this...please pray that they can remove the congealed blood/scar tissue in there through the laprascope....they are not too hopeful on that....and if they can't. they have to open him up....again.  UGH.  Brett is very aware now of what is going on --- a praise that he is "back" mentally, but now he is aware of every little thing.  But his comment was:  Ok, lets get it done and move on.   :-)

He has been making slow but steady progress....still very weak, still on the trach (will have to have breathing tube again now---hopefully not for long), remaining kidney still not functioning completely on its own (dialysis daily)...good news is that his leg "stump" is healing well....he has actually stood up with a walker for a few seconds.  On his own!  Yah!  Still tubes everywhere, colostomy bag (temporary), etc....But he is a fighter...is afraid his wife won't love him now that he only has one foot (gone up to mid-shin).  She reminded him that she didn't fall in love with his FEET!  She has been a saint...fighting as hard as he is...even though baby due in less than a month so of course, she isn't too comfortable physically herself right now.

Thanks so much for continued prayers, ladies.  Please also pray that he will be able to attend the birth of his daughter....due Dec 10th, but their son came 3 weeks early.  Hoping that doesn't happen this time....Brett needs time to heal!  She cannot deliver at Shands where he is....so he would have to be well enough to get to the hospital where she is.  This is a BIG PRAYER but not beyond what the Lord can do!  Thanks so much!

For those who want to "catch up" on his progress, her is the caringbridge link.  You don't have to join to read the updates.
