For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by Nicole's Mom on November 13, 2012 at 9:45pm: My daughter is confident in everything except test 3 (classroom?) diannep, do you know when ship 03, div 017 might be taking that final test? Each day I don't get a call is one day closer to her becoming a Sailor. If I know what day it is (and I don't get a call) I will sleep so much easier!

Comment by diannep on November 13, 2012 at 7:36pm: deboraho: A PIR group can do BattleStations up through two nights before PIR. They don't always do that though. Many times, they are finished before then. But this group is a Wed PIR so they should be going through Mon night for some divisions.

gail: Sigh....they haven't flown any sailors out on PIR Day in a couple of years at least....just can't imagine they would do it the day before Thanksgiving....hoping that their original post that they would fly out on the 23rd is true...

MCJEFE: They usually do the final PFA a few days before BattleStations. This should be the week. May have already been done. Hoping that she did great!

Be sure to put in the password from your form letter in ALL CAPS. One pass needed per car going onto the base.
