Kellyd- yes so exciting.. can not wait. Looking forward to the meet and greet and meeting everyone that I have been talking to. When is your SR flying to A school, do you know?
GoNavy and bayoukat: Just sent the friend requests to you with the BattleStations info in them. Read the info then hit IGNORE if you don't need to accept the friend request. That was the only way I could get the info to you.
mas, how did you confirm that your sailor is flying out on Nov 21st?
*djp not dip
dip: No one but your SR can confirm who is on the list. The Public Affairs Office cannot confirm this. Be sure to ask your sailors when you receive the I'm a Sailor calls after BattleStations who is on the list.
Tammy, just the message sent with the friend request will disappear if you hit the Accept. Many hit the Accept before reading it and don't get the info. If anyone is friend requesting me just to get Battlestations info, no need to accept the request. Just read the info and then hit IGNORE.
RTC had said before that sailors will be flying out on the 23rd, not the 21st. I can't imagine that they could get flights for all of the sailors the day before Thanksgiving....one of the busiest days of the year. I sure hope all of you plan to stay until Fri so they don't miss time with your sailors in case they stick with the Nov 23 departure date (remember, you would get airport visits with the sailors also). I know that RTC is changing all kinds of "things" up there right now....like under 12 or under 2 yrs old on the list, etc. Awful to be doing this so close to PIR on a holiday weekend---but happy that they are now saying 12 and under for this group---sure hope that those SRs who were forced to change their lists can change them back. This has never happened before....yes, they can change flights/day of departure and have in the past, but they usually don't change to a busy travel day...instead they change to a not-as-busy travel day. And the 12 and under not on the list rule has been in effect since I got my form letter back in 2009. However, "change" is the Navy's middle name....and they don't need to "run anything by" the sailors or families before doing it....sigh....
Sure hoping that none of you have anyone denied entry into PIR because of the mix up in names on the PIR list.....what a mess....
diannep, thank you so much for the information!
Good Morning ladies!! One week to go. Yea!! So if you accept a friend request does everything you write to them disappear? Was just wondering.
