For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by Mikesnavymom on November 24, 2012 at 9:25pm: "Talking", with my sailor right now via IM's!! He is in Pensacola and will be there for awhile. He said a Chief died and the place is in chaos right now. No further info given. Does anyone else know anything about this???

I am so thankful for this site everyone was so helpful.the graduation was so amazing words can not explain. Just a side note go to sarges for meet and greet he was great so opened arms and friendly. I am still driving home about. 5 more hrs. Never thought my kids would miss RI sooo much. Well thanks again for all the kind words and advice!! Go NAVY

I just figured out the time that they would arrive. I asked him to call me today when and if he got settled. Where do you live? I hope that all of them have safe trips today. The weather looks better there then Great Lakes LOL

My son and sailor connected in a new way, it was wonderful. He is now safely in Pensacola all tucked into his room and on his way to his new journey. THANK YOU!

Graduation was fabulous and I can't begin to express how all of the advice and tips from the veteran moms helped. Could not have went so smooth without all of you. Graduation was wonderful and emotional. So proud of all of them for making it through. Thank you!!

Your advice and just your kind words mean more than you'll ever know. Graduation was absolutely amazing! Wonderful to see all these young men and women graduate. We got home this morning around 2:00 am.......very tired, but in overdrive with emotions. We were able to spend Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning with our son. We will never forget this. Wonderful!! Love and prayers to all for safe travels home. My son will be in Pensacola later today.
