Julia, hang in there. I know how you feel when you say you want to hug all these women on here. Me too! We will get through this.
Julia, my son was asmoed for a week when there and was very highly motivated when he joined another division as well. They get it done!
Good Morning All!
That is why we are here. We all know exactly how you all are feeling. So we are here for you and will help in any way we can.
Everyone remember to turn your clocks back night. My hubby thought we would lose an hour. i just made his day by telling him we would gain an hour of sleep. I guess that shows we are getting old when sleep is one of the true joys in life lol.
My son was asmo'd 2 weeks his original was Nov 9. I spoke for 30 min with him last weekend and he said the first 4 weeks were tramatic now he is just ready. He said he is just staying focused to get it done.. I am so stressed just not knowing if one day I will get a call saying he is out or asmo'd again or something. Today I wrote a letter with all my guest names exactly as they are spelled on their license just to be sure they get into PIR. It is totally maddening. Thank the lord for this site I would be lost without it. Can not wait to meet you all and HUG!
pinkladybug, it sounds like he is just frustrated and ready for bootcamp to be over. He probably can't imagine staying an extra three weeks. I agree witht the other ladies, just keep those encouraging words going to him. I know two to three weeks right now seems like a lifetime but once he is a Sailor it won't seem like it was such a big deal. Like I have heard from a couple of moms who have been through this same situation, "What is a Sailor who had 10 or 11 weeks of boot camp instead of 8?" "A Sailor" :-) The hardest part is definitely the waiting and not knowing. They all are in my prayers. Hopefully they will pass everything and have PIR on time and will be marching in very tall and very proud :)
My daughter never failed a test in her life until the driving test, she failed it 4 times. She was so nervous and had herself all freaked out about it. Poor thing, I felt so bad for her. When she left for boot camp her biggest fear was the float test. She was 103 pounds with not fat on her at all and she sank like a rock every time she tried to float. But they worked with her, gave her some tips and showed her how to make it happen and it did. To this day I have no idea how they did it but the important thing is they did. They want them all to succeed. Afterall, it is their job to turn them into Sailors and if they don't become Sailors then it looks bad on the RDC's. So, they do everything they can to help them and I am sure they will do the same for all of your recruits.
...he just likes a "practice run" first! So he gets it right the next time! :-) Mine was asmoed for a week when he was there...so....you could say the same about him!
When they mention it in a letter...most times it is a "maybe".
If a recruits status changes and they "will not PIR on time" then they are granted a call home.
pinkladybug - So sorry you and your SR are in my thoughts and prayers as well.
