Remember, deboraho: No news is good news....so no news since he wrote the letter? Must be good news then. Here's hoping that good news reaches you soon!
deboraho - Prayers for your SR! He has time!
Remember that letter was written several days ago as well.
deboraho, Not passing the float portion is very common, I am guessing that your SR probably has a low BMI, no fat to float seems to be the biggest hurdle.
My son also had that issue while in BC (cool late grandpa story there), but they will do absolutely everything possible to help your SR pass that test. My sons division and brother division had six moved out of their divisions the week prior to PIR because they had not passed all requirements (he had finally passed prior to that).
It was hard for those leaving and staying to have it happen. Early Monday afternoon, the day of BS and the week of PIR, they heard their RDC shouting, "Get your stuff stored, you have two hours." Every one of them came back into the ship to participate in BS, some passing that morning. The cheers went up for all of them.
So, I know it's tough not to worry, but keep encouraging him, he will be fine, and he still has plenty of time to pass the prone float.
OOOPS! So sorry, collinsnavygirlsmom:
Ok, KristineLynn: The info I posted was for you and any others interested!
pinkladybug> Ugh. Stress fractures are very common up there. They normally do not send them home...the keep them in RCU to rest and heal and unless they have a problem healing, they won't be sent home. Many do this fine and complete bootcamp with a later PIR group.
Did he act like he wants to come home after 3 weeks, or did they tell him he would come home if not healed in 3 weeks? I know many have been detained because of stress fractures...and it seems that some were detained even longer than 3 weeks....
One day at a time...and pray for healing soon!
You may want to join the "RCU" group on N4Moms. Those ladies hopefully can help you with questions.
sry to hear that pinkladybug, i will pray it does not come down to that
got a letter from my son last week, it was not very nice, he says he was very sick again with the cold, inspections and IT'd three times, whatever that means, he says there was bickering in his group and some boys got sent home. well that was two weeks ago if i got the letter last week so hopefully all is better now, but would sure like to hear it. if anyone else in my division hears something positive please share
Dillonsmom - My SR did the same he put dad and mom
Diannep: that info. needs to be for KristineLynn...I don't have extras coming, was just trying to help her get some clarification!! Thanks so much for all of your prompt responses, you all are so on top of things :)
Jenniferb: congrats on your phone call, we have had 3 calls as well...she said next and last one will be on the 19th :)
And ladies, don't you think that they were quickly filling out those form letters they sent and have been instructed already to include full names on the actual list that they turned in?? Maybe they were just so overwhelmed that they quickly jotted them down. Good advice FTLW, you are so on top of things as well...we are blessed to have all these veteran moms answering to our motherly cries of distress. Have a good weekend ladies, do something for yourselves...you all deserve it for being such proud, caring Navy Moms!!
