WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

KristineLynn:  She will be sent back to the car if she tries to come on base.  So it is best for her to probably wait at the hotel.  Sure wish they would change their minds on letting extras in...hate for her to miss PIR.  But be sure to order the PIR DVD if your SR didn't so she can see it later.  You can do that in the NEX after PIR.  $29, I believe.  Mailed to you in a few weeks.

Thanks diannep...puddles, if you look look around a bit on their site you will see older posts some are of divisions that will PIR the week after ours.

GoNavy:  LLD is Limited Light Duty and FFD is Fit For Duty.  They must be FFD to do their PFA (personal fitness assessment).  There are three phases, each phase consists of PFA, tests and inspection.  These are graded on a 5.0 scale and averaged between all three.  Her first phase scores won her a call home!! She had missed a lot of phase 2 in those 11 days...hence her worry of being ASMO'd.  She has received conflicting from her Petty Officers regarding whether all phases or just phase 3 scores matter in the end.  They allow mental tests and inspections while on LLD, she was able to get some of her stamps on her hard card so hopefully we will still be in PIR on 11/21/12!!

She had only went to medical to see if she could get some ibuprofen and they put her on LLD, she has been back twice and was not released FFD.  She had mentioned that IT in those boots is tough and she can't wait to trade them in for the aircrew boots.  She was in great physical shape when she left so I'm thinking the boots are the culprit.

pinkpuddles>  Just put "Recruit Training Command" in the search box once you are on FB.  You can see the piks there.

Ladies, if doable, it is always better to rent a car for PIR.  Cheaper in the long run if you plan to do some sightseeing, etc with your sailors.  If you do not plan to rent a car, give SARGE a call and use his transportation service...he will give you special rates.  847-212-0246

Below is a link to a tv interview done yesterday with Brett's wife and brother.  He had a hard day yesterday (not mentioned in the interview since it was done in the morning).  In pain now...please pray for that.  Problem with kidney yesterday...hoping to get him sitting up today after 16 days lying down...thanks so much for prayers!

We are staying at the Springhill Suites. Need extra room as the GF is coming along. We will be attending Sarge's meet and greet. I have seem some post where families have taken the shuttle from the airport to there hotels and then rented cars close to the hotel. I guess this avoids Chicago traffic. We are driving to Great Lakes. Airfare was just to expensive. Can't wait till the "I'm a sailor" call.

Hey ladies. What hotel are y'all staying in and do you think it's beneficial to rent a car? 19 more days! We are in the home stretch!
