WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Kellyd - Wow did your words touch my heart!  Just when I thought I was done crying!  That was so nice.  The women on here don't know what a blessing they are.  Anyway, as I sit here I should be getting ready for the hurricane.  I'm in New Jersey and bracing for some tough weather.

Yes prayers are coming from us all to Brett and family and friends.
Comment by diannep on October 28, 2012 at 3:10pm

For those who may not know, Brett is a sailor in Jacksonville FL.  Good family friend of ours (mom is one of my best friends).  Shot 11 days ago when trying to stop a mugger who had just mugged another person near where Brett was....lost most of colon, pierced aorta, lost a kidney, could lose his right leg (artery to it was severed...no blood flow for 16 hours).  He should not be alive....drs are amazed....but he fights on because he is NAVY STRONG!  Prayers please!  Thanks!

Urgent prayers for Brett today please.  Temp of 103, infection in the body that they can't find.  Could be the right leg...could be inside his abdomen (still open due to swelling).  Dr are calling today one of "great concern."  They have had to sedate him again to rest.  Critical.  Please pray hard, ladies.  Thanks!

Kellyd - Thank you for your encouraging words.  It is hard to believe that we are going into week 6. See you soon

Good Morning Ladies.

Blessed be the day! We have 4 Sunday's left before God and the Navy present to us our Sailors! I do believe that Navy Mom's (any military mom for that matter) have a direct line to God. He has brought us all thus far and will get us where we need to be.
I have thought a lot and prayed a lot for those whose Military careers were cut short in BC as well as there families. God has a reason He brought them in that far only to take them back out. It may not be know to us as why but He will make it clear in His time.. My prayer is that you find where God wants you. Not only for the young men and women but the moms as well. God brought you into this too for a reason.

We have all learned something so far. We learned we had to let our kids go and good, bad or indifferent we raised outstanding young men and woman who made very responsible young adults. And this time without them has made us moms a little stronger, maybe a little weeper too.
As children, we were some of their Heros. As I sit here now, my son has become my Hero.

Just my sappy thought today!
Hang in their moms.
We're almost there.
