to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

This Adding Guests to another Recruits Access List - Against RTC Policy has been addressed as well on RTC FB and so I made a DISCUSSION for it in FORUMS on the site.

That's a direct link to the post up above.

pinkpuddles:  Usually the cards are not a problem with the RDCs...unless they are in pink polka dot envelopes with stickers all of them!  :-)

Ladies, some in the PIR 10/26 group just found out today from the Public Affairs Office at RTC that "extras" are no longer allowed into PIR.  Very sad change in policy.  If your name is not on your sailor's guest list (4 per sailor), you cannot get in, is what they were told.  This is a huge change in policy where they would guarantee the 4 on the list get in, but would tell the families to bring the extras...and they would do their best to get them in if possible (almost always got in).  Your SRs can update this guest list shortly before PIR.

We still hope that extras will go to spend time with the sailors after PIR....

Hang in there, only 29 more days!  They will get their stuff together and have some good laughs over what was done!  I just can't wait to hear the stories, still no phone call yet, but plenty of letters my son is on ship 13 div 016, he mentions in his letters that they are starting to mesh like family!  NICE!.

I would imagine that your right, that getting all the walks of life to come together is a JOB all to itself.  I am confident that the RDC know what they are doing, its what they do everyday and I know there is not a situation that they have not seen....I was just hoping that my sons DIV would have gotten it together...it would be really cool to see the before and after....Thanks Lala

For all of you who will be meeting your Sailors at the Airport I just posted a Fight Info Card in the discussions above. You can print it out and ask your recruit to keep it and fill it out when they get their flight info. Then after PIR when they go back to their ship before leaving with you they can grab it and give it to you. That way you have all the correct info for meeting them at the airport. You don't want to end up at the wrong one because they couldn't remember.

I agree with Diannep, almost every group has trouble working together as a team, especially in the beginning. When you bring 80 people from the age of 17 to 30 years old from many many different places and lifestyles it is going to take a lot of hard work and time to get them all on the same page. It will take some longer than others  but the RDC's are very good at what they do. Eventually they will all be working together as a team and will walk and stand much taller and prouder than ever before :-) You will be amazed at the changes in all of them. Wouldn't it be cool if they took a division picture at the beginning like they do at the end so we all could compare the two?

Pink- as long as they are not super colorful envelopes or musical cards, or glittery, he will be fine.
