WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I got a letter and a phone call today. :) He got to talk for about a half hour. He is in Div. 009 and he said he had been SIQ for a day for flu-like symptoms and that several people also were SIQ because they got wisdom teeth pulled, but nothing about chicken pox. I was so happy to hear his voice and his laugh again. :) and that's really nice of your SR's bunkmate, bayoukat110! I'm glad you got to hear from someone about him at least. :)

Got a phone call and a letter today!  He said he likes BC so far. Said they started getting mail on the 9th and that was exciting!  Hope everyone gets a letter or phone call soon.

Dannysmom I am so sorry they pulled your sons teeth! That just does not seem right! I would be upset too.

4 hours at attention I can understand.  4 hours at attention with a pistol pointed at them?  This is the Navy, was the pistol Blue because it may have been weapons training?

FYI:  Careful what you post on here, it could get your fiance in trouble.

I received 4 leters from my SR. He is really up beat and I am relieved. I am so proud of him.

It's really hard getting used to not being "informed" anymore. That was a tuff one for me. But they are now adults and in the Navy. Hard to believe how quickly our kids grow up and just wait until you see them at PIR. It will seem like they have grown up overnight.

yes my son was in the hospital for three days after week one for flu like symptoms and bronchitis. he also got some teeth pulled today for cavities he did not know he had. it all seems weird them doing what they want without my permission. well i just booked our flight and rented the car, now just waiting for the date to hurry up and come.

Kvece1005. Looks like our SR are together. Glad you heard from him.
Comment by Betsy, mom of Stennis sailor on October 18, 2012 at 7:11pm

bayoukat, awww, that is so awesome! What a wonderful SR to do that for him.      dannysmom, I think it might be because it's Southwest that has no penalties,  lol.  :)

Julia, Yikes on the Chicken pox.

i just received a phone call from my son's bunk mate. He told me my son got stuck doing watch today so he was taking part of his time to call and tell me that my son was doing fine, had received my letters, his birthday cards, and that he loved me. I'm overwhelmed with emotion because it looks like I have an extended family beyond my own. Wow!
