WELCOME to PIR 11/21/2012!

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Diannep thank you so much. My parents really want to go. They will be so thrilled.
Comment by diannep on October 16, 2012 at 8:46am

Yes, should be, beckybec, so bring them!  They did just tell the PIR 10/12 group (14 divisions) that no extras would be allowed in, but that is a "first".  14 is a very large group though. They normally encourage extras to come.  They can't guarantee that they will get in, and they may have to wait a little bit (save them seats), but they usually get in.

Good Morning Ladies!

I have a question for all the veteran moms out there. With 11 divisions graduating on 11/21 how possible is it to get 2 extra people in to PIR?

No word here from my SR but I stay strong that no news is good news. Booked flights for my sister and I today along with hotel and car. I am focusing on the celebration and meeting all of my fellow Navy Moms!! See you at Sarge meet and greet!!

We too got the second form letter with a short note on the back.  We were all so excited...can't wait to hear more.

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on October 15, 2012 at 7:26pm

I am glad they are sending out new form letters as well. I agree with LaLa...There are many who do not do ANY social media, may not know to even check the RTC site...just rely on the Form Letter.

It happened to me for my sons PIR but we did NOT get new Form Letters. Our recruits called us and told us, but that was three weeks in.

:-) on the "little note"!

Comment by beckybec on October 15, 2012 at 7:19pm
I thought I just got my first real letter today but it was another form letter with the correct date on it. My son wrote me a little note on it though that he has more letters for me but mail is running really slow right now and that he loved me. That little note warmed my heart.
Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on October 15, 2012 at 6:39pm

I am glad to see they are sending out new form letters. There are many parents and other family members who do not get online at all so they would not have known the correct date and may have made travel plans before they received a call. So, good that they did that :-)
