I didn't start a division group. It was already there. I just joined it, but there are so many on this one its hard to follow all of the different conversations going on

It is not too early to make hotel reservations....sometimes those book up.  No penalty if you have to cancel since the policy for most is up to the day before or day of arrival.  Many offer a discounted Navy Grad rate so call these hotels directly and ask for it.  They hold a limited number of rooms at this rate, so book now.  Recommended hotels are:

Springhill Suites, Residence Inn, Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express (all close to Sarge's MeetandGreet held the night before PIR for you).   Navy Lodge too....no Grad rate offered there, but their rates are good.  Book in your SR's name if you don't have your own military ID.

Yes, I would like to add to what Cryptodad and ellen said.  Please do not start individual division groups on N4Moms off of this PIR page.  It clogs up the site with too many groups...best to wait for the discussions to be put up top and ellen said it will be very soon!

Comment by diannep on October 12, 2014 at 8:36pm

SailorMom:  Once ellen get the discussions up, you will be able to chat there with others from 015/016 !  They know each other.  Be sure to stay on this page too though for lots of info, and bring questions on to this main page since we N4Moms veterans do not get to the discussion groups often....we are on 6-8 or more PIR groups at a time.

Career Mom:  Many like to decorate the hotel room door for their sailor.  You should check with your hotel first to see what is allowed as far as attaching decorations to the door, and then it is up to you how you honor your sailor!  Not everyone does it....my son was the type who would have died if I had done that....but so many appreciate it!

J Freshie:  Residence is a good choice.  We stayed there back in early 2010 for my son's PIR.  2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, bath in each bedroom, full kitchen, pullout sofa bed in the living room with gas fireplace.  Very nice.  Pet Friendly too if you are driving and want to bring pets to reunite with your sailor!

Like catmom said, I will be adding division discussion for thie PIR in the next couple of days. In the meantime, please keep posting here. :) Even if your SRs aren't in the same division in BC they may be going to the same A School, may end up in the same C school, and could end up in the fleet together. Get to know each other, your SRs may become friends for life!!!

srmama & kim,

Cryptodad is correct.  ellen0502 will start the division discussion groups here in the next few days so all the divisions/brother divisions can chat it up.  In the meantime, you can friend each other chat to about your SRs privately~~
