Shelly:  Sarge likes an approx count to order food by the beginning of PIR week at the latest (Mon).  No problem if you say yes and then don't make it for whatever reason last minute....he wants to make sure he allows for food for all.  For those who can RSVP before PIR week, he appreciates that too!

For the new members here.....the form letter and box can arrive at any time....some arrive in the first week, others maybe not for 2 weeks or more.  Just depends.  Your SR can only send out one form letter, although I was told by someone at the A School up there (who used to work at RTC) that in divorce situations, the SR can request a 2nd one for that parent.  Doubt many do that though.  They cannot mail out any personal letters for about 2 weeks though, until their Recruit Mail Petty Officer is trained.  The mail you send now is held from them until then too.  They usually receive the mail you send on a Sunday after those 2 weeks and can then mail out their first letters (mailed on Monday).  Usually they write their letters before they get yours so that will be why they ask why you haven't written.  They don't understand that there is mail waiting for them.  It is delivered to them right after they write their letters.

Good Morning!

Does anyone know how soon we should RSVP for the Meet & Greet. I don't want to jump the gun but I don't want to miss it !

AJmom,

The cool thing about being at Navy for Moms is meeting family of the SRs training with your SR!!  I have met a very sweet friend through here!!

Are you in California too?  Most receive their letters on Wednesdays or Thursdays~~

I am so very thankful that I found all of you from my sons ship. It makes me feel closer to him somehow. I'm flying into o'hare on the 20th around 2pm. I secured a rental car and if anyone needs a ride I would be happy to help! Just send me a message. I have 3 extra seats in the car!

My daughter is ship 03 DIV 013, got our first real letter today and so did her boyfriend. She called from the NEX on Oct 4 and we were able to talk for a long time surprisingly! She sounded good on her call and her letter and said things were going well!

AJMom:  I think CatMom was posting back to the lady on here who calls herself Ship12Div016Mom.  CatMom actually has a sailor already!
