I'm arriving on Tues and leaving on Fri afternoon...my son is also Ship 12 DIV 007

Thanks for your reply. We have planned the same arrival and departure.

Does anyone know what the plans are or might be for the undesignated sailors after graduation?
I don't know silk...do you mean those without solid jobs/schooling contracts? You'll probably find out at PIR. Would they be the ones most likely to remain at GL for their schooling I wonder.....?
i am wondering as well diana - for me to be soaking up so much information - there is still so much i don't know!
and yes Diana - the ones I guess that don't have schooling contracts.
Thank you all for your replies!!! I'm very stressed about not knowing for sure what is going on. Your feedback has helped me feel better. We decided to book flights from Tues. - Fri. afternoon. I hope that was the right decision. I hate thinking of leaving my son alone at the airport on Fri., but we will have to get to our returning flight. I guess we also will be going to the airport with him in the wee hours of the morning. I know what you mean, Diana, it would be too much to drive back and forth, so I guess we will check out as well. Hopefully, we'll be departing from the same airport. Thanks so much for the info. about Thanksgiving, sjs. Still not sure what our SR would like to do, but, knowing him, we are thinking he may like some down time. I look forward to meeting you all.
tlh...I think our SRs leaving for Pensacola will depart from the same airport. Not sure where everyone else goes other than there or remain at GL. What airport are you flying back from? Milwaukee or Midway or OHare? We are doing Midway back - a no change planes flight which will be nice to snooze on after such a long day. Our kiddos can tell us their exact flight time/place but not sure when. We may not know until PIR. Flexible - we all gotta be flexible! At least we'll have 2 days with them is my feeling which is pretty sweet considering usually it's the one day and the send off the day after.

Diana, we are flying into and out of OHare - nonstop both ways. Yes, flexible is the key word ! :)

It will be nice if we get some extra time with our SRs. I know my SR had this idea that he would be able to come home between Boot Camp and A school and was very disappointed to discover that that was not the case. I know he'll be happy with whatever time we have together.

So just a question...is my son the only one on here going to A School in Conn?  Is my son the only one on here that chose to be on a sub?
Oh wow Aloha....on a sub! Cool. My daughter opted not to even though she scored high enough to. I didn't know sub school was in Conn....at least he'll be used to the cold by then :-/ Maybe....  I think there is a group for those going on subs? Check out our other discussions.....

Did any of you receive a call today?

also how is our division doing - 008 seems to be doing awesome on receiving awards -

does anyone know if they have their flag designed yet?
