Jenn...great to hear from you, too! Glad to hear you had some quality time with B and he is happy with his career so far. Feels like a loooooooong time ago when we were quietly hanging out with our tired puppies after bootcamp. Will definitely make sure A gets hooked up with you when she's in port. Hope to see you both very soon. {{{{hugs}}}}
Gee Dee - I think you must have been reading my mind yesterday!! I was thinking of my BC moms and was in fact getting ready to send an email to Diana!
Diana - I'm so excited that A will be in San Diego!! I'd love to have her over for a home cooked meal once she gets all settled! I like to try and give back to sailors out here - hoping it's paid forward for my boy somewhere along the line. And that she is one of "ours" makes it even more awesome to support her. You'd better be in touch when you get done here! Dee owes me a drink (hmm, or maybe I owe her one) we can make it a three-some! Friend me on Facebook if you want - we can stay up to date that way too. :)
As for B - he was just home for a week of leave. He is stationed in Lemoore, CA with VFA 41 (up near Fresno in the middle of nowhere)! He loves his job though. They are getting ready to deploy soon so it was nice to spend some time with my big boy!
{{{{{{{DEE}}}}}}}}!!!! How have you been? My girl will be stationed in San Diego - USS Boxer (insert huge smile). She finishes C school in 2 weeks and then will be home until she must report to her duty station September-ish. I'll have lots of reasons to head down your way soon!
Miss everyone!!
{{{{JENN}}}}....I've missed our regular communiques, too. :-/ The Navy Lodge is booked during the time I'm going. It's also 15 minutes away from her so I'm opting for the Quality Inn for starters. We will head towards the beaches, national seashore, etc during her off time to explore and spend some time together. Since she's been there for 5 months, I'm counting on her to be the 'expert' on where to go! Can't wait!! ......not for the humidity though....x-p
Hey Diana!!! ARe you getting excited for your trip? I bet it is going to be nice! e sure to post some pics of the graduation and tell Aubrey congratulations!
As for where to stay in P'Cola - I know there is a topic on the Pensacola page and a few of the moms have recently made the trip out there and have some tips about where to stay and good places to eat. I have heard the Navy Lodge is nice (probably along the same lines as in Great Lakes) but it is on the beach (or really near) - so it's a popular place to stay. Keep us updated! Miss chatting with you regularly. :)
Hi Mommas (and Poppas).....Hoping all is going well with you and yours. I'm off to see my Sailor girl in a week-ish as she is graduating A School.
For those of you who visited in P'Cola, particularly with sailors at Correy Station - any good tips on the visitation?
Big hugs...
Hey Kendra and Dee!!! Wow oh wow Kendra. Married??????????????? Did you have a clue at all? Yep, I think I'd have a big powwow with Aubrey-girl if she took that route, too. But, if they are happy and safe - embrace the change!
Aubrey finishes up A School mid May. I'm flying out to Pcola the day before and staying for 5. She then starts C School there - not sure exactly when but the predicted finishing time for that will be fall-ish sometime. Then - it's off to a Fleet somewhere. I cannot wait to see her.............. Skyping has been a godsend.
Kendra, happy trip to Pcola! Dee, Kings Bay is a pretty area. Much warmer than CT!
Hugs everyone...
