N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Ship 11 Div 19 .. Just got a call from my son. he sounds really good. He is the petty officer of laundry for his section. He said his bunk mate is James A. he is very respectful and has been going to church with him..so if this sounds like your love one...Thank you!!! He said they did a lot of swimming tested last week and he did well and next week is week 3 and they will be doing fire, and the gas chamber some time during the week. We talk about a bunch of stuff and This Div seem to be coming together...God Bless and hope you all hear for your loved one.

Tracie, I don't think your Sailors will fly out on Wednesday, that would be unusual. Things can change, but I would still count on having Thanksgiving with your Sailor.

Div 019 just got a 25 minute call from our son!!! He sounds so good! He said they told them that they would see us only a couple hours after PIR and they are going to try to ship them out before the holiday. So I'm not sure if we'll get to spend Thanksgiving with him or not.

Thanks for the info on the calls...we haven't received any letters and probably won't unless we begged. So he said 3-4 weeks so I guess that woulld be the I'm a sailor call. In seems to be different for everyone like you said, either way...it's good to know they are making progress. He also said he should get his orders for A school two weeks before PIR.
